Dear Ghanaboy, I am sorry to hear that the Accra thread is quiet. I was on this thread until my husband was turned down for his PR to Canada. I have since joined another thread. With the Accra denial rate being 40%, perhaps this has lead to more people joining the appeals process thread. Alternatively, 60% of folks have hopefully been approved and are moving forward in coming to Canada.

From what I've seen, this thread would be active for a bit then it would die down then active again and so on. I think most of the regulars here got their visas and it's up to the new people to find this thread and participate.

It would be great if we share timelines and experiences and give each other hope.

Having said that, I think December is a slow month so hopefully we'll get good news next month...I'm hoping for a speedy process and I pray for that.

Regarding the 40% that get declined, are they straight forward cases? if yes, then that's quite alarming.

Thank you to those who have genuinely tried to help our situation. It looks as though nobody has experienced the same difficulty we are having so I am posting this for those who
A) are Nigerian who have a Canadian spouse
B) are currently living in Canada or USA
C) are unable to make a courier account to allow them to pick up your passport and have it sent back to you in North America
We are sending off his passport to Accra blindly hoping that when it is ready to be picked up at the Canadian embassy someone there will have a heart to help us out to send it back and not discard of it. If and when we get his passport back I will post it so that those going through our situation have some guidance.
Although these questions may seem menial to some, I am positive one day they will be of help to someone because in the 168 pages in this thread nobody seems to have experienced the same dilema as us.

My wife was once in this situation as after applying for a PR in Africa, she came to Canada on a visitor's visa, while here her passport was requested for PR visa in Ghana so we did created an account with FedEx and mail out her passport to Ghana via online fedEx account and we got a mail from cic accra for pickup when ready. We did send fedEx to pickup using our online fedEx account again and they delivered to our home here in Edmonton. We then went to the US border to do landing.. Hope it helps.

Hello everyone. Hope someone can help. My husband got a email yesterday asking for more proof of marriage. What do I do? I only have jumbo africa calling cards and reciepts of sending him money. We also have viber chats. All of this is from after we sent in the application. Is that enough? Should I maybe get a letter from some friends? Maybe another letter from my daughter?

Yes I did. They have received it now they are asking for this. I pray it all works out.

I helped a friend in a case like that and he got his visa less than 3 weeks after. Get your parents or his parents to go to the court in his home country and get affidavit attesting that they knew and supported your marriage. Get your daughter as well, and make sure to get letters from friends. If you have community people, go and get letter that that are aware of the relationship. Finally, get your church pastor or Priest to write a letter. Within 2 weeks of them receiving it you will get your request.

Thank you. All letters before were notarized, so if I do that again it will be ok? My daughter is so sweet she says God will give her the best birthday present ever and it will be the arrival of her step dad. Her birthday is February

nkt,all ur vo wants to know is that marriage truely exist and that its not marriage of convinience,so dnt worry much,u can send some of ur pics together as well as flight tickets and western union reciept and also ur chats as a proof of continous relationship and also write a letter of attestation and have him write some too describing how u met and how happy u are to being together soon
