Need guidance on how to answer one of the questions on the Sponsor form:
Background: I was single when I came to Canada as a Permanent resident last year. Then I went to Nigeria to marry my fiance. My fiance and I never lived together during the courtship but lived in the same city. Then I came to Canada as a PR, and travelled back to Nigeria to get married.
I need advice on how to answer this question as contained in the Sponsorship questionnnaire.
" If you are not living together, have you visited each other during the relationship?"
@olddelmary if there's a field to explain, then I'd say "no" and then explain that you lived in the same city during courtship so your visited each other [insert frequency here], but for [your own reasons here] you haven't visited each other in the year that you got PR.
If there's no field for explanation, then I'd put "yes." Remember you are always allowed to submit additional support details. So if you think there's room for them to doubt your relationship, attach a document and refer to the form number and question number and provide whatever explanantion you feel is necessary there.
for example, for the question of whether my hubby and i exchanged gifts on our first meeting. i put "no" and in my note explained that when we first met, it wasn't a romantic encounter so no gifts were exchanged, but when we started courting we exchanged gifts such as xyz.
