I thank everyone for their concern.

When you enter the CIC website, go to "my application" then to "sign in or create an account". You will have to have a bank account in your name to create one. They will use this as further proof of your identity.

Once you create your account, you can link your application to that account using basic information like application number, family name, date of birth etc. You just have to follow the prompts.

wait a minute! you don't need a bank account. you can create an account with just your email address and file number etc. then you choose a password. just remember that you must include the sponsor in the count of number of people on the application (i.e, if you are only sponsoring a spouse and no other dependants, you put 2)

you can use a bank account but if the bank site has issues, then that means you can't log into your cic account. I'd keep them separate. Just my two cents.

This is interesting, I wonder if they only say that on people who live in Ghana, because I don't believe my husband's said that.

i can send you screen shot ... at the bottom of the certificate below the applicant name it says
whose true representation appears in the picture above doea not appear in the criminal records of ghana police service. this is valid for 6 months from date of issue. so maybe other countries may be different however on the GH it clearly states it

we have completed the medicals hun on cic linked app shows medicals passed.

Knock! knock!! Pls on our application my husband did not include his email address but through my additional documents Cic demanded they saw his email and put it on system. Now they sent me a mail and copied him. My question is can I add his email on my additional family information or just ignore as before? Before i did not add it but since Cic added it can I add it. I'm submitting tomorrow my police certificate and othwr forms.

Thank you for that... I knew there had to be some other way. Will try your way instead.

I think you can add it. An email is different than adding people. And especially if CIC noticed, you should do it.

Question for everyone (or those who are Before December 2016 applicants), when people have been getting police check requests after their medical, are they given only 10 days to submit that with their passport and forms? Or is it asked for separately from passport request. I guess that's a question for @ClassicD, @ooao and @tender. I'm just wondering if I should get my husband to go and do his police check now instead of waiting for them to ask, since it is valid for 6 months. The one we submitted with our application would have expired in November last year. It's just Accra is at least a days travel away so it would save us time if we did it before. Thoughts?

I would suggest you just wait for them to contact you. Remember it's case by case situation.

In my case, they asked for original copies of the police report from both Nigeria and UK as well as the medicals to be done. In Nigeria, its pretty quick to get the Nigeria police report. I suspect that after they receive the police reports and medicals, then they will do background checks and then ask my wife to submit her passport for the visa. The gave us 30 days from the date we received the letter to submit the documents.

I will suggest you wait because every case is different however they will give you enough time to produce the documents and to do the medicals.
