what is AOR2? did you get acknowledgment of receipt 2? how it looks like?

We filed the application from inside of Canada, so no visa office as such.

Yes. I also submitted the application from Canada.
When I got my sponsor approval letter it did not mentioned which Visa Office it will be transferred to.
I called CIC last week and got to know it is sent to Beijing VO.
I think yours also might be sent to the same VO.
What is your ECAS status ? Mine is Application Received

Means, if you check your ECAS Tracker after medicals are passed, the status will turn to Application Received which means AOR2 and at this point the VO of your home country Received your Application. Post this it will again turn to In process which means they started working on your application. Experts correct me if I am wrong.

Hi, please help me understand what you mean by "your child will be able to continue here for 6.5 months more irrespective of the decision". I am in a similar boat, My sons sponsorship was initiated in Sep 2020 and his visitor status was to be expired in Mar and I also applied for his status extension in Feb this year, but haven't heard back on his application. Are you saying he can extend more than 6 months if we don't hear back on his Visa extension application? FYI, we all are in Canada. Thanks in advance.

The general response timeline of extension application is 208 days (6.5 months) as of now. So until you get response from them, you r child can stay in Canada on Implied status.

My daughter's application is showing In Process in ECAS.
I hope it is IP2 and not IP1 as I missed checking it for a while.

Let's see how it goes and keep this thread updated.

We received two emails since we submitted the application to Sydney NS
One was to say they received the file.
Today we got a second email, stating after review that she requires biometrics

but she is 6 years old... is biometrics asked for children that young??
Should I pay those fees for biometrics, im confused, please help!
My husband applied in 2016 that didnt exist in his days so we arent familiar with the biometrics

I paid the fees for my 6 year old kid but got the fees as refund as the minor does not need.

You're right, biometrics are not required for children under 14.

You should definitely write/inform by webmail that this appears to be in error.

Personally I'd suggest paying the amount so that the file is not held up and get refunded later (this is pretty common) but it's your money.
