who to contact??

finally figure out what S. 19(1) , S.15(1), S.16(1) stands for, when we request ATIP / GCMS they can withhold information and on those pages the relevant exemption is written.

see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/privacy/atip2011-12.asp

IV. Exemptions Invoked
The majority of exemptions CIC invoked fell under three sections of the Access to Information Act:

Subsection 19(1), which protects personal information, was used in 10,672 cases (51 percent);
Subsection 15(1), which covers international relations, defence and subversive activities, was used in 6,452 cases (31 percent); and
Subsection 16(1), which addresses law enforcement and criminal investigations, was used in 2,231cases (11 percent).
It should be noted that more than one subsection can be applied to a specific request.

not sure if anyone finds this information useful or not but for me it was useful.

thanks

Dear Sunny,

Thanks a lot for sharing this informative link.

What I understood that if we see S19(1) in our CAIPS/GCMS then they are just hiding information (partially/fully) which they have received while Security/BG Checks.
and it does not mean that right now our BG/Checks are in process, please confirm seniors if I am correct!

Wassalam,
SMSH

Dear Gravity,

Could you please advise the date of your next bfd....???
