Weird thing...this new E****** file number , I cannot access my ecase with it .....but I can still access my ecas if I use my old B******* file number OR my UCI......odd.....maybe they haven't updated this new file number !! I don't know...

File # that start with B is your physical/paper file and file # starts with E is your electronic file. When the file is fully loaded in Caips/GCMS., it is alloted an E# to denote eloectronic file #, however ECAS should be accessible with both numbers. It could possibly be a temp glitch where ECAS can't be accessed via E#.

One interesting thing I noted: the email I got is from "client-update-mise-a-jour @ cic.gc.ca......this sounds like a very FRENCH email addresshmmmm....
Another weird thing...this new E****** file number , I cannot access my ecase with it either....

mise-a-jour is french for update, so nothing from french visa office as canada is bilingual country. I do not see the point of new file number if no one can access application status. Just another lollypop from CIC.

I do not think CIC staff is on strike, a day before i got mail for change of file number. Today i received confirmation mail for change in particulars, against my yesterday mail.

I think you will be getting something because Zalteef is not a holder of 18 month letter and neither he got UDR and he has the same email and they have to send him something too so the rest you figure it outjimmy page said:

Logically you are right it seems that this new E file number has nothing to do with delay but could be a standard procedure the only thing hopefully we will start receiving MR by end of August and if there is no good news by then I would request all August BFD holders to apply GCMS again on 1st sep to the see next BFD/ comments/ updates in their files as CSE is not allowed for us till we complete 18 monthsGoingnorth said:

Yup, this E-file number is "neither a good sign, nor a bad sign".....and it has nothing to do with processing time of your application....it just means they r updating their system to electronic database (probably from caips to gcms, which in my case does not work, so quite an ODD update/upgrade)....SMSH said:
Good idea about caips/gcms though...was discussing same with arsh/zeeshan on phone yesterday that if no one gets MR in aug 2013 (as I keep saying), besides sending lara boys+myself, a 'beautiful' wala sms, I think caips/gcms would give an idea what's the next BFD.
