Hi Everybody. As all of us are continuously reading this thread for ages and the basic purpose of all of us is the same i.e. to reach Canada as a Skilled Migrant Worker one day and i hope, wish and pray that Insha Allah, sooner or later, all of us will be there. As i have lived in the the western countries previously, i have the experience that how a person feels when he arrives on a new land for the very first time and how desperately he needs help in resolving the immediate issues where everything is new and the system is totally strange for that person. Along with that, we, as the people of eastern countries face a great Cultural Shock as well when we lands in any western country having entirely different values and traditions. I have one suggestion in mind which could benefit all of us if we think and work on it seriously. Insha Allah, some of us will land in Canada a bit earlier then the others so obviously, those who will land earlier will be settled there earlier. Here, i want to propose to make a club of friends and those who will land there earlier will help the others (it will be a non-financial help because based on my experience i can say with 100% confidence that no one would be able to help any other financially over there). We can help the others in the following things:

    • Landing Procedure Guidance
    • How To Arrange Accommodation In The Cheapest Possible Method
    • How, Where & When To Do The Initial Documentation
    • Assistance In Finding a Job (If Someone Is In a Position To Do So)
    • Any Other Help Which Someone Can Offer To The Other
    • Finally, When All of Us Will Be There, We Will Convert This Cooperation Into a Socially Interactive Group With Meeting And Socializing With Each Other Because When You Lives Overseas, You Miss Your Countrymen a Lot!

Note: This participation would be totally on volunteer basis and no one will participate in that forcefully. Additionally, no one will be assigned for any particular work like Mr. X will arrange the accommodations for everybody and Mr. Y will arrange the transport etc. Its entirely up to the availability of the person and if someone will be free and able to do anything fine otherwise no heart-feelings.

In order to start this group, we have to create a database of the members like email, phone (in Pakistan), address and phone numbers of Canada etc. Additionally, in order to create this group, we have to remain in touch with other fellows through this thread even when we will reach there.

All Members, please give your suggestions and feedback on this.

First of all, i would like to thank you all for liking my idea. Now, as most of you are ready to be a part of it i think (its my personal opinion, all of you are welcome to propose any amendments) preparing a large database of the group and doing "this and that" like having a list and circulating it among the others will be useless. Additionally, arranging meetings is also not a practical solution because we are divided in three different groups 1) Pakistanis living in different cities of Pakistan so obviously, if i am living in Islamabad and my other fellow is in Karachi, how can we meet with each other? 2) The second group comprises of Pakistanis living in the UK or Middle East like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE etc. 3) The third group is our Non-Pakistani friends who are living either in Middle East, UK and even in India and Bangladesh etc. Briefly, people in all of these 3 groups cannot meet with each other. Here, the question is what should be the solution? In my opinion, there are two solutions for it 1) Those lucky ones who are leaving for Canada should tell all the others about their Email,Skype IDs as well as the city in which they are planning to get settled so that the others can contact him when required. 2) The second methodology is that everyone who is interested reply as a "quote" on this thread and mention his Name, Email, City & Country, Skype id as well as the city of Canada in which he/she is planning to go. so that one can retrieve the information through this thread whenever required. The information will appear like this:

ABC - abc@xyz.com - Islamabad, Pakistan - abcd123 - Toronto

Finally, i would like to request all of you to contribute your ideas, suggestions and feedback in saving the data of all of the interested people and managing other activities (for both present and future).

  • Simple solution: I can add two more columns in google sheet 1. Skype ID & 2. Destination in Canada
I hope this would be the shortest and fastest way to keep in touch even before we move to Canada
I will request all interested friends o create one ID only for this purpose like so our master google sheet would be a permanent reference for everyone as in this all details are already there....
Please let me know if I should CREATE two more columns.
Hopefully you will like this idea...
