Thoz who got 6-12 months wait letter

I have news from Passport offices in Pakistan.

1) Recently the contract for passport stationary has been issued to foreign company by ministry of interior. (source: news media)
2) the back log of passport will soon end. (source: passport office internal people)
3) New passports will be with 10 years validity dates (although I am not 100% sure on this)
4) Recent trends on passport issuance is 2 months for urgent and 4 months for regular passport.

Looking at above trends, I was about to apply for renewal of passport for my daughter's passport (expiry date July, 2013); which I am delaying till it expires... because in my case MR has been called and I might move to the next step in 2-3 months. I know I am taking risk but I dont want to land into another discussion with LVO and invite more delays!

What do you think?

Please also guide, which bank should I prefer to pay fee as draft for permanent residence fee?

Just go thorugh medical with your existing passports then go for new one. The passport issue will be over in next 2 to 3 weeks max Insha-Allah.

I've also applied for passport renewal of all family memebers and I know how - submit applications. It took 4 days to submit

Secondly, the 10 years validy is true.

Just checked my email and I have MR + Permanent Residence Fee notification. And yes it is just after 10 days of my BFD and from LVO!

I received this email two days back but did not check my inbox due to hectic routine.

The good part! LVO is active and 'IS' sending MRs. In-Sha-Allah all will get notifications very soon.

I have learnt a lot from all members on this forum and I think it is now my turn to help you guys. All are encouraged for questions (if any).

I applied for Caips notes for a thrid time nearly a month ago through my relative.
yesterday, got Caips notes in email. The caips notes which i recieved in email were the same which I recieved nearly two years ago and not a single word is changed. In first Caips notes, No son was added and same in third caips notes, while in 2nd caips notes, there were details of my son.
In first caips notes, no points were alloted same in third caips notes, while in 2nd caips notes, I was given 72 points.
In first and third caips notes, nothing started, while in 2nd Caips notes, it says that Medical paper and PRRF is ready.
First caips notes and 3rd caips notes are just 7 pages, while 2nd caips notes were 36 pages.
I wrote them back and asked that either it is the right one or they sent me back the old Caips notes by mistakes.
Lagta hai kay pakistani passport office ka asar sub per ho gaya hai.

thanks they have updated medical on 21.02.13 and given due date as 23.03.13 and stats is not started. unfortunately my caips were printed on 19.03.13.

I don't know which country are you in but in mostly third world countries, CAD drafts can be available.

I am from Pakistan. and (with all due respect) it is a developing world not a third world.
