Can somebody suggest which airline is best in terms of price, service and luggage allowance from Islamabad to Calgary....I would be highly obliged for your help in this regard.

As far as luggage allowance is concerned, the Canadian government has the same rule for all the airlines i.e. that the suitcase must not exceed 23kg. Now, the number of pieces allowed is 2 in all the airlines so in other words, you can carry 2 pieces of 23 kg each.

Now about the airline. Let me suggest you the best option. Talk to any travel agent and ask the rates for Turkish airlines. The benefit of travelling by Turkish is that you will take Turkish from Islamabad to Istanbul and then from Istanbul, you will continue your journey to Toronto on the same airline and finally, your Toronto-Calgary flight will be from Air Canada (who have arrangements with Turkish).

The benefit of this route is that you can travel to Canada (Toronto) with a single stop and without changing the airline. The second benefit is that as you will land in Toronto, you will complete all of your immigration formalities in Toronto and when you will sit in the Toronto-Calgary flight, all the formalities will be completed and after landing in Calgary all you have to do is to take your baggage and go to your hotel or house without wasting your time in completing the formalities.

Thanks fsarosh......logically you are very right....thanks buddy!

As it will be allowed to carry two bags and once we reached toronto, a flight from toronto to calgary would be considered as domestic flight or international?

Domestic flights are allowed only one bag and then you might have to pay extra for your 2nd bag.

Expert advise is needed from all those who have travelled expecially to canada from Karachi.

I think if it is connected flight then you don't need to worry but better to check directly with airline instead of facing any problem at that point but logically you could be right if your luggage is out on Toronto and all procedures are done like customs then better to checkout at Calgary instead of Toronto
The best situation is that you take a flight to your landing airport to avoid any trouble

I have travelled recently from Karachi but my destination was Toronto so i am unaware of the baggage allowance. Definitely, a flight from Toronto to Calgary is considered as domestic. Can you consider a flight from Karachi to Lahore as International? :D

I think it would be wise to contact the Air Canada’s representative in Karachi. Gerry’s travel is their authorized sales agent and they can tell you the exact position so better avoid making guesses and contact them as to get a crystal clear picture and avoid any inconvenience here in Canada. Gerry’s details are as follows:

Air Canada PAKISTAN GSA
GERRYS INTERNATIONAL (PVT) LTD
1 & 2 Lotia Building,
Abdulla Haroon Road
Karachi
PAKISTAN
Tel.: +92 21 356 77395/ 77212/ 54933
Fax: +92 21 300 8278786

Note: If you don’t know their location then this would be much more helpful for you. They are located opposite to the old metropole hotel which is now been demolished.

Its always better to clear doubt by asking.

+1 for you for that helpful address.

Just this crazy question came in mind ...LOL :D

So it means you can't have 2nd wife after landing as well :(

This feature of Canada is not good ...but my brother told me that in UK he can have two wives as he is migrated to UK and his first nationality is from Pak....but his kids can't have 2nd wife as they are UK citizens by birth....

So may be there is an option for us as well in Canada... :D
LOL ;D

I think bhabi doesnt have access to this forum :)

My copr doesnt have the due date for landing
Does that mean I have one year to complete landing?

Dear Waiters,

as you all know that i have received MR+PCC+POF+RPRF but i need clarification on the issue of POF

i have been asked 12 months bank statement of 2013 and a bank certificate showing CAD 14000, i can show 14,000 CAD now but i did not have 14,000 for the whole year of 2013, i only have salary received and withdrawal for the whole year of 2013, i also have another a/c that i used only to pay credit card payments, so will that be ok? i will also show plot ownership docs and few bonds & savings a/c balance for my wife as supporting docs. please advice if it is ok.

Dear Farosh

My cousin travelled on American Airlines - they have code sharing with Etihaad , Emirates and Air Canada.

His route was;

Pakistan - Dubai - (Carrier was Emirates)
Dubai - London - (Carrier was Emirates)
London - Calgary - (Carrier was Air Canada)

He landed directly in Calgary

Stay Blessed

Dear Naadia

Your flight is International Flight , and your luggage will be booked for "Ultimate Destination" . In your case baggage will be entertained on the basis of your "Allowance as mentioned in your ticket"

Stay Blessed
