I really hope we will hear something soon. It’s been such a long time I think they might ask us to redo our medical. I don’t mind it, I just want this to be over. It’s costing us many opportunities and money. We recently paid for or our second BOWP. i’m wondering if I should apply for notes again. This is killing me slowly
At this point I’m wishing they ask me to renew my medicals :D at least gives me hope someone actually looked at the file. I hope we both hear some good news soon! We don’t have a choice but to be optimistic and hope for the best!

Well, my case shows that being asked to renew your medicals means nothing. I got my AOR in July 2017, still waiting for PPR, the delays are due to security screening. In February 2019 they asked me to renew my medicals, which I did, and... Boom, nothing happened ever since :)

Any form of response from them would be good news. I’m praying for the best.
MoeD, Therisaw - have you considered getting a lawyer or something? I tried reaching out to the IRCC multiple times, including through an MP - nothing seems to be working. I'm running out of ideas.

Oh wow! I thought that they only ask for medical renewal when they are ready to approve it.
The MP called last month and they say they are still doing security checks- not sure if they mean criminality or security screening.

I checked with a law firm and they said I should give them $10k upfront. They said $3k out of it is to send a letter "writ of mandamus" to say they will sue if it's not approved soon, but if it's not approved in that timeline then the rest of the money is for if they have to go court and I would get back whatever is leftover after court. However, if it takes more money I would have to pay whatever additional cost comes with it.

After waiting for almost 3 years it's unfair to have to pay $10k when some people are getting their PR in 3 months. So I will just continue to wait and ask the MP to call or try to reach out to the minister of Immigration or something else- I'm still thinking.

CIC should do better. It's unfair to keep people waiting this long, they should either update us, approve or decline so people can move on with their lives.

Damn, $10k sure sounds expensive. I'll probably try to look for cheaper offers (even though I'm a bit skeptical about the whole lawyer thing) after a new version of my CBSA notes is in.

It’s quite expensive to hire a lawyer and writ of mandamus doesn’t have encouraging rates of success if you really look into it. CIC can always just state it’s a matter of security why your file is taking this long and then you just continue waiting with a smaller bank account. I heard from someone here that maybe tweeting at them could help. For now I’m trying to enjoy the holidays, and will go back to thinking about what could be done afterwards. Was hoping for a white Christmas in Canada, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be this year.

I checked out two other layers and one said $3k and the other one said $2,500 for the letter and they both say if we go to court that's a different fee and I would have to pay the court fees too.

what do you mean by: "after a new version of my CBSA notes is in"

Where in Canada are you located? Most places have snow. It normally doesn't snow where I am so I wasn't expecting it.

I'm trying to enjoy the time but it's always on my mind, plus I applied to renew my bridging work permit on Aug 23, and still have not received it. I checked the processing time online and it says they are now working on applications submitted September 1. So I'm not sure why the delay with the work permit too. Hopefully, next year is a brighter one for all of us.

Happy holidays to everyone by the way! I'm gonna try my best to relax- that"s my new year's goal and trust that things will work out.

I’m an outland applicant. What I meant was that I hoped we’d be in Canada enjoying the snow in Christmas. Happy new year to you, and yes, hopefully 2020 is better for all of us.

I ordered GCMS notes on September 4 and November 5, and have not received any of them yet. They are taking 120+ days to release them.

My AOR is June 12th, I contact IRCC by web form and they responded to that says that they need to do additional verification. and they have no idea when my file will be finalized. I have been getting speculations, but no conclusive response regarding what that means. I am hoping is a generic response. Can you say which Visa Office is handling your application?
