6 months starts from R10. We lost months at the beginning for nothing.
Dats even more weird isn't it? From Mar till July they did nothing absolutely.

I just wish I get my notes on time to see what's the hurdle in it or are they just sitting on it. Though deep down I wish only ppr :)

How do you know this?! Makes sense
What I know is that legalfalcon says that and people are getting regular timeline emails even after 6 months and it just makes sense.

I don't think I lost any significant amount of time, I was medical passed within like 30 days... no matter how you look at it, I crossed 6 months.

Another month passed.. but still no news. got GCMS few days back but in that no activity since Mar.2017 they transfer file to LVO after that not a single activity done on my file and now i m on 17th Month ... since AOR...

I would totally be looking for a lawyer for mandamus if I were in your shoes. You have sort of proof of no progress that is not due to anything you did, and a wait time above average.

There are inland applicants who got PPR after 625 days. If your file is stuck in security screening then you can do nothing but wait.

Is your LMIA is still valid or is it expired? Or they asked your new employer to re-send the job offer?

Dear all,

18 months since AOR and still no updates.

I applied for PR first and then came to Canada on a closed work permit. My employer turned out to be terrible and I ended up resigning a few days ago. I filed a complaint to the Human Rights commission, complaining about the discriminatory conditions I was subjected to at my workplace.

I then applied for an open work permit, although I wasn't sure if I was even eligible, then wrote an email to CPC Ottawa, explained my circumstances, and requested update on my PR application. Any idea if any of this can expedite the processing of my case?

What makes the situation doubly frustrating is that even in my GCMS notes all I can see is that my application is in background check stage for over one year. Makes me wonder, if I am deemed such a big trouble-maker for Canada security, why was I given a work permit and was admitted to Canada to work temporarily?

Anyway, any advice is much appreciated.

By the way when I received my GCMS notes, there was a part of the email that got me worried:

The processing of your request is now complete. Please refer to the following for an explanation as to what was released:

Disposition of your records: Disclosed in part

Section(s) of the Act applied (if applicable): 15(1) The detection, prevention or suppression of subversive or hostile activities

Any idea what that means???

Guys need help !!
Aor :-Feb 01 2017
Cec applicant

Got 2 gcms notes. But there is no progress since April month.
Medical and criminality both passed but the eligibility is recommended passed by case analyst. And security not started.
It is in Ottawa right now. I don't know why it's taking too long to pass my eligibility??

I sent cse as well emailed them but every time they says my application is in process.

Any suggestions guys ???

Any update your application Jack?

Hi Guys, I am a May 2017 AOR (FSW Outland). I kept my patience and would check the status once in 2-3 weeks for the first 5 1/2 months until they (LVO Sydney, Australia) asked me to submit a couple of documents (on 23rd Oct) that I managed to upload within a couple of days. The BG status changed from 'NA' to 'processing' in the next few days but nothing since then. I managed to speak to the agent today (after many tries over the last 3-4 weeks) and she confirmed that there is nothing unusual in my application and has definitely not gone for the secondary check (security screening). My status reads as below:

Application status: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results We are reviewing the results of your medical exam.
Review of additional documents We need more documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details.
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Can someone please explain my situation as to what's happening with my application?

I am also waiting for the GCMS notes that I applied around a month ago.

Cheers

I also have that in the email containing gcms notes and I got PPR a week ago. meaning of section 15(1) is following:
15 (1) The head of a government institution may refuse to disclose any record requested under this Act that contains information the disclosure of which could reasonably be expected to be injurious to the conduct of international affairs, the defence of Canada or any state allied or associated with Canada or the detection, prevention or suppression of subversive or hostile activities, including, without restricting the generality of the foregoing, any such information
