Hmmm.. I'm not sure about that.. I had used Fongo to make free calls over VOIP, but while installing Fongo I had to spend 300 INR / 5$. Considering that I also got a Canadian number using which I can make free calls to most numbers within Canada and I can also receive incoming calls on the same number while being in India, I think that's a very good option to go with. Rest up to you - Good luck with the CIC call. Looking forward to hearing some good news from you.

Just an update: I just got off the phone with IRCC. The agent was really nice but I didn't get much info. Still undergoing security check, still in Ottawa. She said: you should be hearing something in the next few weeks, but I can't give you a date. So in summary, I didn't find out anything new. Worth a shot.

That is a good news man!
There are some agents who are really helpful. There is only few of them who are really rude!
Next week will be 8 months since I submitted my application...
I will also call them next Friday.

Oh gosh, 8 months! So frustrating. If only they didn't say the 6-month thing, then I feel like the wait would not have been as bad. But I based all my life decision around these 6 months and now everything is in limbo. Am I leaving, am I not leaving? Should I take vacation, have a child, sell my stuff? It's just excruciating.

I had a plan to go back and visit my family in the summer. Two weeks ago, I decided to cancel my plans. If I get the PPR msg anytime, I need at least 2-3 months until I get my PR card.
It's not fair that they do not update us with the status of our applications!

Agreed. This process is not nearly as transparent as it should be.

I hope things move for both of us, very soon. I see now we have very similar dates. Your BG has been in progress for a long time too! Do you know why that might be? I suspect my government job is a cause of this delay.

The processing time was 8 wks and I got my PPR after 12-13 wks (they finally approved it without asking any additional document)! I only worked 1 year for a semi-governmental company as a junior engineer. If that was the reason, I am really surprised.
Anyways...
Nothing to do, but waiting.

I thought I should pay you all a visit

I needed to take a break from this process, so I wasn't on the forum after I got PPR..

I sent the copies of my passport to Vienna VO two days ago, but I could not get a pre paid anvelop from croatia, for the life of me.. so I just sent everything without it. Now I hope that COPR will not get lost once they return it via regular mail. I will just have to wait for about two weeks and see.

Still can't really believe what has happened..

Got GCMS today, that I order a month ago., soooo difficult to read in the notes section: Failed, and Visa should not be issued.. Unfortunately I do not see the last month of activity, but in the last activitiy it says eligibility: recommend passed.
I don't think I will relax until we actually land.

To all of you waiting., hold on.,. they say that the night is darkest just before sun rise, so try to keep that in mind
