I'll hit 11 months of waiting next week. A CIC agent told me the deadline for a decision on my file is September 2016 which is 16 months.
I have also heard from other sources that 16 months is the deadline which CIC has committed to for a final decision on EE files and the original 6 months is just an estimate for the average processing time.

This sounds terrible, but at least there is a deadline for finalizing files..much better then if there was no deadline at all :/

11 Months!! OMG!!! How are you still alive! Bravo Man! I am on 6 months and 10 days and started feeling so killed. :'(

I hope and pray that you get your PPR at least before all of us here.

2 Times earlier but nothing much. As per agent security is in process rest all completed. I hope to get latest GCMS notes this week.

I wonder how much time security takes :-X

You are truly patient, having to wait for so long. Is there anything different about your application due to which there is such a long delay?

A quick update. I had my BGC in progress since March 3. Today I checked MyCIC and it shows that the application has been updated. But there is no change in the status, everything is the same, and neither have I received any email. Not sure what this is all about.

You are close to ppr. Updates show in 24 hours, check a little later ..

Ps. I alreday explained in august aor thread, but this topic is relevant here.
I got an extension on my medical validity. New validity is set to march 2017., so no fear of medical expiring now.
I asked for status update via mail to ottawa and pointed my medical is due to expire in 45 days., they answered with an uodated and informed me that they asked for my medical to be extended.
It took about a week and i was granted extension.
So basically this can be done if you point it out on time.
Hope this helps everyone with medical about to expire inform cic and ask for you status
