Well, I can understand your frustration about the whole process.
I had wait over 14 months to get my application approved.
Be frankly, I don't think there's anything wrong about you. It is just this system needs to be improved.
I faced the same problem as you when my medical exam almost expired.
For my case is the VO send request to HMB for Med Re-assessment,
and HMB Ottawa the just pulled in valid Meds for me for 1 more year.
It is really tough during my waiting period, especially when you see someone got approved after you submitted 1 year later.
Just when I almost give up and ready to pack to my home country. It just came in a sudden.
All I can say is, stay positive. Don't lose your hope!!
Truly, deeply believe you will get it!

Need your advice ...my medicals would expire on 19th August ..should I raise a CSE to extend the validity of medicals or is it like they do it on their own one the application reach near 12 months ...its my 10th month and there is no respite in sight.

i submitted my application as single applicant in november and showed them funds in SAR which was 45158 which if we convert using the rates on google is 15292 CAD.

how ever as my family composition changed to two as i got married i didnt send them updated proof of funds as the old one should be fine to meet the min requirement of 15143 CAD.

but do you think they will use a different calculator coz even a slight change in rate will make me fall below min required funds.

what do you suggest? shall i send a new bank statement or just wait?

Better share your updated status with CIC and show an extra 1000 CAD in POF. If they use some exchange rate which is not same as yours and resulting CAD value is lower then the application would get impacted.

I know it's hard, I am in same boat. just assume that it is a year long process and plan around that.
I am ready to buy house/farm but have to sit on it until I have definite answer.
btw, if you end up in QC or ON and I end up buying a farm, come visit with your family. Canadian countryside is beautiful in spring and summer.

My medicals just went back to review in progress. It seems like this wait is never going to end for me. Honestly, I am so close to withdrawing my application. This whole thing is a joke.

just an update for this thread: I just passed the 13 month and CIC agent told me yesterday the BG check still hasn't finished and added that I should expect a response between now and September which would be 16 months from my original submission date as I submitted my application on May 6th, 2015.

oh my god thats brutal...sorry to hear about ur case.. i was whining about me at 7 months but u must have incredible patience bro.

what about GCMS notes? and cse? i know being at 15 months you would have tried every trick in the book, but there must be somthing which is taking for your app so long

Wow! Can you at all think of any reason your security is taking so long? Like, maybe your country is not very responsive, or there is someone with the same name who's in trouble, or you think it's just bad luck?

And please, tell us how you are managing to stay sane and live a normal life with this much waiting???

Just received the special message...PPR!!

On the 7th, I sent an "URGENT" email to ADVO requesting for more specific reasons for delay in my application. Just received an email to check mycic account and there it was ;D. It was like a burden lifted. I had been hoping not to get any additional PCC request for USA because I spent almost 6 months there sometime back. Also, my last GCMS note (March) had Security not started and Criminality in progress. BGC had been in progress since November 2015 with no update. The worst part then was that the last officer that worked on my application posted November 2016 as Due date.

I encourage the rest of us to keep sending requests by calls and email like once or twice every month and don't forget to include "URGENT" in the subject line. I hope to see more happy emails like mine soon in this group. All the best.

Yesterday I called IRCC again to inquire about the change of status of my medicals, to which I've received no specific reason. She just waved it off like it was a minor thing and not to worry about. How should I not worry about this?

Also, no movement in security check either. I did get a long lesson on how "immigration is a serious matter and cannot be done in a couple of days, and I need to be patient because it's a lengthy and important process". As if I don't know that. Then how come some people get PPR in 2 months if it's such a serious and lengthy process? Why isn't everyone getting the same treatment then? Why are some files prioritised, while mine sat idle for 5 months before anyone even touched it.

Can you tell I'm fed up? ;D
