Hello All!

Just wondering if anyone has hired a lawyer to inquire after their case from this group and if that was to any benefit.

I am going to hit the 6 month mark in 2 weeks exactly. And from then onwards, its a free fall - there is no end at the horizon; no addition 2 months, or 6 months, or even 12 months. Just no estimated processing time. You just have to wait for as long as it takes.

Its unbelievable how easily this excruciating wait puts people's lives on hold. 80% within 6 months is fine. But I wish the rest of the 20% were expected to be cleared, within, say - 8 months? So 2 additional months after 6.

I am really interested to know if hiring a lawyer has helped anyone and at what stage should you hire a lawyer. At the end of 6 months? At 8 months?

Thanks!

no need to hire a lawyer, unless its a specific case you are arguing about... like for eg you have been arrested before, or lived illegally in a country in the past... that sort of thing

after 6 months its just security checks - if you havent been rejected yet, and you know in your head that you havent given any false information anywhere - you should be fine... i know the wait is hard but life doesnt necessarily have to stop only becoz of this... :)

order GCMS notes and check your status. after 6 months you can raise a case to inquire your app status.
No need to hire lawyer

Got my second set of GCMS, not much difference from the first set, except that the reason for 'REVIEW REQUIRED' is given.
Its, that 'THE AGENT COULD NOT DO A WEB SEARCH ON MY ORGANISATION'(So they transferred my file to Chandigarh and ND VO two months ago!!). Called my ex boss, he said, the website has been down for 3-4 weeks!!!
What now?!
Should I get in touch with IRCC or let them do their own thing!

Cheers
What does your 'Eligibility' status say in notes? Is it 'passed'?

hey buddies, 18 months here! :)

don't you lose hope! Someone recently got ppr after 19 months, so we're definitely gonna get it sometime soon!
What's your country of origin? Do you have military or government background?

Hiring a lawyer for going over 6 months is futile and any lawyer worth his or her salt, will tell you so!
You hire a lawyer, if you want their opinion on your GCMS notes (Lawyer's opinion is a service which GetGCMS.com provides!) or if you beleive that an adverse decision has been taken in regards to your file (Ie. Appeals, etc).
Give IRCC a call once every month (and I personally also order a set of notes monthly)!
Cheers

20 months and counting for me. Slow!

Yes extensive travel history does mean a longer security check, unfortunately!
Also as you are a newbie, welcome to the forum and please update your details on the immigration tracker, if you haven't already done so!
Cheers

I just like to think we are the 'special' 20%!!!
I find, the trick is to not get hung up on it...I am going on a vacation, which I had postponed for long, waiting for PPR.
Cheers

I admire and salute the patience of everyone waiting for such a long time. Lives standing still and precious time passing in expectation of a single e-mail that changes our lives. People around you say things like: it happens for a reason, it teaches you patience, it will be worth it... but the one who waits doesn't know what to believe anymore, is it fate or pure coincidence? The important thing is, that hope always remains...
7 months and getting philosophical o_O
