The least popular FSW 2013: NOC 2145 Petroleum Engineer here

As of now on 10.10.2013 cic acknowledges that only 1 applicant (of 2,095) has filed for NOC 2145 but according to FSW excel sheet 3 out of 6 already has their CC/DD charges. Why hasnt cic acknowledged other cases

I am 2145 too. I applied several days ago. Lets see what's happening around this NOC.

Oil prices are good, economic climate for petroleum industry is fine. Therefore if you have job in industry you don't have any premisses for immigration

I am working in a FIFO job in a third world country. Similar work in Canada will ay a lot more. Moreover more opportunities for my family.

Hi, Guys, I am also going to apply for NOC 2145 at the end of November. But I have a problem about work experience letter. If you look at the NOC duties for 2145 you can see that duties are for different field of petroleum Eng. drilling, production, reservoir and.... I have one year experience in Production and it means I can only cover 2 or 3 job duties in NOC. I have heard it is necessary to cover around 75% of duties. I am really confused and I do not know what to do.

I think 75% coverage of duties is not quite relevant to 2145. 2-3 from the list is Ok. I provided this list to my supervisor and he was ok to write reference letter. I trust Cic officers are trained to distinguish right content in letters )

I am a mud engineer which is one of the example job titles under this noc 2145.
However my real duties hardly matches with one of the job responsibilties.
I have sent a letter with ten duties in detail which i really perform.
I also hope they dont reject my case on the basis of the fact that my job resonsibilities dont match the one on the website.

Application received date by CIO: 24TH JULY,2014
REASONS BEING:"Your letter of employment must clearly give evidence showing that you have performed the actions described in the lead statement"

My Boss used the one on the CIC page, it looks 80% close to the one stated by CIC but NEVER COPY-PASTED. The reason for rejection was the least expected to me, My Boss was shocked as well, he tried his best to do every thing appropriately.

PLEASE!! ARE there NOC 2145 APPLICANTS" PETROLEUM ENGINEER" out there who would like to help me out with duties so i can send it to my Boss to use it as guide line to right new one, my Boss and I are confused about what CIO might be looking for.

I'm a well logging Engineer in Schlumberger, My manager wrote me a reference letter stating that my job duties are the following:

- Prepare and execute a Logging Job.
- Acquisition of petrophysical and geophysical data inside oil wells
- Prepare logging report to be used in predicting the Hydrocarbon quality and quantity.
- Measure the reservoir fluid pressure and permeability to be used in estimating the reservoir performance.
- Determine the casing and cement condition of the oil wells.
- Perforate the wells in order to produce the oil.

Can you please advise me if they are good or I ask him to modify some thing.

Hi Guys,

Good luck to all of you prospective immigrants. I applied in December 2014 under NOC 2145 Petroleum engineering. I have a degree in Chemical engineering from US and I have been working as a Petroleum engineer in Dubai since December 2013.

My question to all of you is I that does working from a remote location also factor into my job because out of 1 year I have worked 3 months from my home country. Also, I have sent all the paperwork to my attorney in Mississauga, ON, So what visa office does it fall under.

Does LWD engineer fall under 2145 or is 8232 more reasonable??
