If you already did the test and they told you over the phone that background check is in progress, there is nothing you can do to speed it up unless it goes beyond normal processing time (i.e. 1 year). Otherwise sit back and wait it will come :)

If you recieved your PR under protected person you will be applying for refugee travel document. Its a better document than the Certificate of Identity which is given to people who become PR in ways other than refugee claim. I have had no luck traveling anywhere with the Certificate of Identity...
