Hey July friends,

My husband and I just got PPR today, and I believe our interview was waived as well!!!! Please update it on the spreadsheet! :) We are so happy after not hearing anything for a while, it's nice to get some news. Wishing you all the best as well. Hopefully we will all start hearing stuff now! Funny thing is I actually sent them a new scanned image of my passport in December because I had just received my new one in the mail (reflecting the name change). Last month they changed my last name on ecas so it was nice to know they had received the change and updated it. Not sure if I should re-scan the passport or send to them the saved scan I sent in 3 months ago though?! :)

Here is the message I got from them in case anyone is curious:

Code:
[pre]This is in reference to your application for permanent residence
in Canada as a member of the family class.

We have now completed the initial assessment of your application,
and expect to finalize your application without a personal interview.
While an interview does not appear necessary at this time,
we reserve the right to call you to an interview,
should this become necessary at some future stage in processing.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE PROCEEDING FURTHER.
YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE FINALIZED BY THE CASE PROCESSING
CENTRE – OTTAWA (“CPC-O”).

In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:

- Copy or scanned image of your valid passport.

Please also confirm your mailing address.

Americaninlove's husband here. We are so psyched, this was totally unexpected! Our SA letter initially stated we were sent to Los Angeles and were worried about the long wait time and lack of information about that office. We sent the updated address and name change to them and they never said that they were forwarding it to Ottawa (such as another forum member had done: he emailed them an address change, and they said he was in Ottawa and no longer LA).

The spreadsheet says we had a PPR before but we did not, so please change the date to today! We'll see how soon the visa comes :) Hopefully everyone else hears good news soon as well!

Hey all!
After my husband got his PPR on Feb 7, he sent it that same day to the VO in Mexico City.
He got his passport back today with a gorgeous shiny visa in it. His flight is booked and he will be landing here in Calgary on March 1.
I still can't believe that this is almost over. I don't think I really will until he's actually physically here in our home that he's never been to.

Still hoping everyone here that's still waiting gets good news very soon! :)

Congrats it feels more real when you have the visa stamped in your passport, you start feeling everything is taking the right place. Like you I'm not going to believe its over till I get home with hubby. I would like to land tomorrow LOL but I have some family issues here in Mexico I have to solve before I go to Canada.

I hope everyone has the chance to join their loved ones soon :D
