Your details on the July spreadsheet was transferred already to the August spreadsheet, since I have acces to both forms.

I now need to say good buy for the July thread, because actually my application was received in MPC on Aug. 6th. So I am now migrating into the August one

(just put a note that application was sent originally on July 15, returned on July 31st for a missing signature)

Hi all, just got back from a camping trip where I had no cell signal, checked my email and we got SA on August 21. It says that our visa office is Los Angeles "selected based on your relative’s home address". Anyone know if our application will actually go there or to Ottawa? What determines if it will go to LA or Ottawa?

Awe man I bet you had fun on that camping trip!! Welcome back, and congratulations for your SA!! What you just mentioned, determined, and confirmed that they have sent your application to Los Angeles, mine says that my visa office is Ottawa, based on my home address, and I live 80 miles from Los Angeles, crazy. So in my case they still can send it, to LA, later on, but for you your app. is already at its final destination, LA. You are all set, the spreadsheet has been updated.

Since most US offices have been closing down, it's a bit of a strange situation. What happens (from what I can understand of the process) is that all US applications go to Ottawa first. If everything is good and easy and not interview is needed (majority of cases), then Ottawa issues the COPR (confirmation of PR), and that's it. If the case is more complicated and an interview is needed, then they transfer the file to a US consulate, usually close (or closer ...) to where the applicant lives, so the person doesn't have to go to Canada.
Interviews for US/Can couples are the exception, so if you have a straightforward case (married or common law, living together, no children involved, no previous sponsorship, similar background etc.), then it's unlikely that an interview would be required.

Hi! This is my first post on this forum and I found this thread since my application was received on July 2. My Canadian husband is sponsoring me, his American wife. Here's our timeline so far in this waiting game:

Married: November 14, 2012
Medicals done: May 21, 2013
Paid all of our fees online, etc.: June 27, 2013
Application sent to Mississauga: June 28, 2013
Application received: July 2, 2013
Email from CIC that application had been received: July 19, 2013
Sponsor Approval: July 23, 2013 (Sent to CPP-Ottawa)
Medicals Received: it's said online that they've been received as long as we've had online access to our case so I'm not sure of the exact date they were received? They've just been listed as received since July 23, 2013.
Toronto bound!

And now we wait! I am the least patient person on earth and this process is making me learn how to be I guess, ack! haha. Also could I be added to the spreadsheet? Excited to follow along with everyone's progress here!
