congrats everyone. i just submitted my spouse sponsorship application today. (there is no august thread lol)

i am just wonder wt does the term SA mean ? (i hear everyone is saying that)

and whats going to happen next after i submit my application ? will i receive a email or mail saying that they received it (AOR) ?
once they transfer the file to the visa office (hong kong office for me), does that mean i have everything included in the package ?


btw, i was searching on the web and looks like from the cic website, it says the spouse sponsorship will not be affected. any comments ?

Hi ms. or mr Sing, there actually is a spreadsheet for august applicants, the link is right above this sentence. SA means Sponsorship Approval, Stage 1 of that is whats next, should take about 30 days. You will get your AOR in a about 2 and a half weeks, sometimes they both come at the sametime, around the 30th day. If you dont hear from them and they transfer your file, you are good. If your package is incomplete they will mail the whole thing back to you, so that you can turn in a complete package. Good luck to you.

Yep, you are good to go man, you can now chill for 10 to 15 days until your Stage 1 approval is here.

Congrats to all the people getting good news from CIC.

I start feeling really nervous because I see I should be having news from them in the next few days.

But suddenly one start thinking what if they send it back, what if its something wrong. I think positive most of the time but sometimes I get stressed.

MANILA, Philippines—The Canadian Embassy in Manila on Thursday assured the public that its visa services continue despite earlier reported disruptions due to a widespread strike of its foreign service workers.
In a statement posted on its website late Thursday afternoon, the Canadian government confirmed reports that personnel handling visa applications were among those participating in a global strike of Canada's Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (Pafso) union.
“Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service,” the alert read.
The embassy said processing times of applications for temporary and resident visas “do not take into account work stoppages.”
“Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications. We continue to monitor the situation,” the embassy said.
Visa applicants in Manila reported service delays and disruptions earlier this month after personnel at Canada's visa center took part in Pafso's worldwide strike.
The union last week initiated work stoppages in at least 15 of the biggest Canadian outposts around the world, including Manila, amid a pay dispute with the government.
The strike started just weeks after Canada opened new visa application centers in Manila and Cebu City in a bid to make its services more accessible to Filipinos.

Yes, that's correct. They will mail, or email the person who is sponsoring their family member, depending on if that person has put their email address down in the application, if not then it will be mailed to the sponsoring person.
