You need not worry. The BGC will go in progress once early in the process and then again. Usually at this time your PCC are checked and info sharing is done.

If your eligibility is passed, you may be in enhanced security screening. To read on how security is done, and the procedure, see https://bit.ly/2DxSQ42

Hello Legalfalcon,

According to my GMCS notes (received last week), I passed Eligibility on March 18, 2020. Criminality: In Progress - Security: Not Started - Info Sharing: COMPLETE.

Furthermore, I was requested FBI and France police certificates (I have lived in both countries in the past.) which I submitted the very next day. No word since then.

What do you think could be going on? I don't believe I am in security since according to NOTES this have not even started yet. What could possibly be going on? Do you believe I will face strict security, just because I have lived in both of these countries.

Best regards LegalFalcon!

Is your eligibility passed by an officer or recommended passed by an analyst. Only after the officer makes a final determination will your eligibility be passed and the security initiate.

The PCCs are required for your BGC and criminality, so if you submitted them they will be taken on file, evaluated and a determination will be made.

To see if your eligibility is passed, see my previous [post on how your GCMS note should look like available at #3,199

Thank you very much for your reply!!

I got both (Case analyst and officer approval). Dated March 18,2020. You state on your post that security begins immediately after ELEGIBILITY. While in my case as per last week's NOTES show SECURITY: NOT STARTED (that's almost 6 months after elegibility passed) Any idea why??

For most cases, as soon as the eligibility is passed, the security is initiated. In your case, since the PCC may not yet have been verified, which would mean that the criminality is not passed. That could be a reason for the delay in initiating the security.

Biometrics is not a stage as such, but has been made mandatory under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. If the biometrics is not on file the application will not be approved, but will continue to progress.
