What are the chances for 433 on a regular draw.
The first draw of the year had a cut-off score of 446. It took them 5 months to reach 440. May be another 8-10 months to clear the people above 435 as people with 441+ are entering the pool at an alarming rate.

At 436, I tried to complete an old diploma and spend time and money.

I finished and started ECA update, got my ECA from WES yesterday. everything was ok, till they added (one semester).

Here is where it get tricky, I completed the diploma cos a friend evaluated same diploma, below is his own outcome.

SAME CERTIFICATE!!!

how can an organisation be so inconsistent, it is so annoying, I wrote to them and awaiting response.

Just pissed right now.
For some reason, I can't see your image.. what course did you complete and how long did it take for conpletion full-time ?

I have decided to do a Diploma of Accounting online with McMaster University Continuing Education. They have many other programs that offer certificates or diplomas fully online. Check here: https://www.mcmastercce.ca/online

I will be completed with the course by 2020 which calculates my score at 458 by the time I am done since I have a degree and would be getting an additional diploma. In the meantime, I will continue to remain in the pool.

In any event, I would have a diploma that will be useful since my plan is to switch to the Accounting field so not a waste of money or time IMO.

Being in the pool itself means nothing. Until you put down your application for PR, you are not stating your clear intention to immigrate. (same like EOI is not an application to any provincial system).
So in the application should we state that we would like to immigrate eventually or just say that we will study and then return home?

Of course you will be stating that you want to study and return home. Then you would have to reveal your UCI, but other than than if only activity you had before was EE, you can correctly answer NO to the question, if you have ever applied for PR. (since you did not).

Are you in Canada? Isn't there in a requirement that if your education is from Canada, at least 50 percent shouldnot be distance?

Now that 441s are fully cleared, I just took a quick glance at the 2017 draws to find out from when folks are waiting on each CRS between 431-440. This might help us in forecasting how many draws it will take to clear each CRS in coming months (without hiccups or miracles).
440 - Dec 30 2017 (draw held on May 23 2018)
439 - Oct 19 2017 (draw -Nov 15 2017)
436,437,438 - Oct 18 2017 (draw -Oct 18 2017)
433,434,435 - Sep 20 2017 (draw- Sep 20 2017)
431,432 - May 31 2017 (draw - May 31 2017 with cut-off 413)

So, after 440s are hopefully cleared in next draw, may take 1.5 draws for each CRS from 439 till 436 (assuming equal distribution, which may not be correct). 435 till 433 may take 2 draws each to clear off. So, 13 draws to reach the end of 433. Assumption of same draw size 3500 and fortnightly draws obviously.

Below 433, looks a little difficult frankly. I am not sure though what will happen to those waiting for 1 year, will their profiles automatically expire and they have to create new profiles?
Oh no, not again with your doomsday prophecies @NOMAD2017 :( :p
People above 440 are entering the pool at about 200-220/day at the maximum as we've seen (except for that crazy period between 4-9 May). Look at my analysis above which tells me we should be able to reach 433 in about 12-13 draws. And if the draw size increases, then it can be faster. So let's hope :D

Have you seen the poll result showing most people are sitting on 440, 438 and 435. It will take more than 2 draws with tie-break to clear up people with each of these hot scores.

Hope is not a strategy!

After the nice low score of 413 last year, the number of hopefuls increased along with the things that happened in the US - too many ppl are applying (yes you and me included)

The regular ROH series threads are great to hang around and dream for the score to come down. While it will be great when it happens, we who are at the edge or the boundary need to strategize differently.

This thread is for those at 430-437 who want to take matters into their own hands and start to look at real ways to make a difference, network and share ideas instead of waiting for the score to drop

I realize that many ppl in this club will be in the pool for a year. This will give us our own space instead of the guys sitting at 439-441 who are just preparing their PCCs and medicals

Strategy no
  1. Have right NOC code for OINP HCP
  2. Learn French
  3. Try to get job offer with LMIA
  4. Try to get job offer from Canadian arm of your company. No LMIA required then to get work permit for a year as your company applies to CIC for the transfer. After the first year if they want to continue with another job offer for a year you get the 50 points. It's called intra company transfer category.
  5. PNP for other provinces?
    1. Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program
    2. SINP
    3. BC EE
  6. Australia - its easier nowadays than Canada - they have own point based system and accept IELTS!
  7. Drop spouse from application and sponsor after landing (for some cases)
  8. Add spouse (marry - Canadian spouse or one with Canadian education/experience and get additional points)
  9. Distance learning which will take at least 1 year to pass (Post Grad Diploma/MBA/Masters etc.)
  10. Attending full time Masters etc. in home country for additional points.
  11. Take IELTS AC & enter Canada with a Student visa / Hit a Canadian University - which upon completion would get a PGWP and then certainly ensure PR after a time
  12. Certain nationalities - you can try to go for Working holiday in Canada (that can be the way how to qualify for some provinces)
  13. ...
  14. ...
  15. ...
... Pls add
How will NOC code help? Please share an example
