Understood. Hypothetically, let’s say that I put in a request via the web form right after getting the COPR saying that I’m unwilling to travel to Canada due to A) high risk to travel being pregnant due to Covid around and B) H1B situation. If I won’t get a response anytime soon (as I’ve seen so many of us on the forum who are waiting for extension requests being granted). My question is - can I go past the COPR deadline (without abandoning my PR application) just based on proof that I sent in this extension request despite it not getting granted yet ? Is that what is happening to most people here who are waiting?

After we receive the PR this time, does that time we spent in Canada count toward the the 3 year residency rule for citizenship? For the passport request, do we send in our son’s original passport or just the photocopy of the main page? In the instructions given in the PPR, they request the photocopy if one has a US passport. However the instructions aren’t quite clear as it might also mean that it’s just for the main applicant, and not the dependent.

Anyone else been in the same boat?

Currently with all the delays due to cOVID, it is very difficult to predict anything. For most security is a fairly quick process and takes 1-3 weeks, but for applicants who get stuck in enhanced security screening, it can take over a year.

Also factors where your application is at, the work load etc. will have have an impact on how quick the processing happens.

The residency rule to apply for citizenship is that you have been physically in Canada for at least 1,095 days (3 years) during the 5 years before the date you sign your application. If you were physically in Canada as a temporary resident, then the following rule applies:

• Each day spent in Canada as a temporary resident within the last 5 years counts as one half day when you calculate your physical presence. You can use a maximum of 365 days as a temporary resident toward your time spent in Canada.

Just a photocopy for your son as he is from a visa exempt country.

I have requested them to add but they mailed me back saying "as per their process, they cannot provide email address. Please feel free to contact 'xxx@xxx.com' in case of any queries". I am planning to explaining this on LOE and attach this email (with email address) as proof od contact(supporting document). Will that suffice? Whatelse should I attach to satisfy the requirements.

Ideally she should have and when you claim 15 points for the sibling, your sister's application may be looked into.

It is not material to her application, but is to your.

she is my half-sister and I was much younger at the time, we were not close enough so she didn't bother to ask for any information at the time.

Hi @legalfalcon , I'm in the process of adding my spouse to my application after AOR (Feb 20, FSW-O) and I have some questions, hope you can help me.

1- IRCC asked me for my spouse photo but sent specs for PR photos of 70mm x 50mm (physical photos specs), which are different from the 420x540 pixels (digital photo). Which one should I use?

2- IRCC gave me 2 placeholders to upload documents. One for "schedule A" and one for "forms and package". But there is no way to fit everything in just one 3.5mb file.
A)Should I upload only schedule A in its placeholder? (Respecting the placeholder name)
B)or can I merge all forms in one file and upload all in schedule A placeholder? (so I can have more space in the other placeholder to upload as many files as possible)

3- in form 5562 for travel history, my spouse listed one trip to Canada (for studying) but came back to country of origin to visit family and friend in several occasions, should I list each trip? (This is confusing because it says you should not list travel to country of residence or origin. And in this case in Canada became temporary resident (study permit) and Mexico the country of origin that was visited 3 times while studying)

YEs, that will suffice. Although email address is not mandatory, but almost all employers now hav it. If your employer does not provide one, no need to worry, just include the email you received and explain it in LoE.
