Hello @legalfalcon Sir,

I have received 2 year close ended work permit (which my company sponsored based on the job offer and has an LMIA number) and will be landing in Canada in by next month and will start working for sponsored company from July 2022 till June 2024.

Query is -

1) Now ,can I use the job offer letter from my company to get the "50 points" for "valid job offer supported by a LMIA under closed ended WP" in CRS under express entry ?

2) Secondly , after getting COPR , do I need to still continue working in the same company for the unexpired tenure of closed WP or I can resign and look for alternate job after COPR ?

Any information or response is highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards
Guni

Dear @legalfalcon,

I hope all is well and thank you for what you've been doing to help people on here.
May I ask you something regarding mailing the PR card internationally?

Is there any legal consequence/concern for mailing the PR card from Canada to other countries? Specifically, is such an action illegal under Canadian law?

Thank you!

I got my GCMS notes today. it says Eligibility : Review Required , Security : Not started , Criminality : Passed , Medical : Passed, Info sharing : Complete

In further notes, it mentions " I Have reviewed the application based upon documents and info contained in the file and note following : ** Review Required by officer** A11.2 : MET R87 : APPEARS TO MEET R75 : APPEARS TO MEET R76: Selection criteria - FSW Points : APPEARS TO MEET R76 : Selection criteria - Medical : ALL VALID Summary notes : Officer , please review edoc # 439215521 , PG 2 Ready to Finalize "

This above comment is from 2022-02-03 . we had ordered GCMS notes on April 12. Now I am not able to understand what is the review required here . This doc is not something we submitted and cannot find same name doc in gcms anywhere. do we need to provide any info to them because we havent recd any request for ADR etc.
also how much time will this review required take and how much time in security.

Hope to get some answer from you. Thanks in advance for your help.

YEs, you can ship the PR card, however, please remember that PR cards when shipped are subject to being confiscated by CBSA unless accompanied by proper authorization. If confiscated, you will have to apply for PRTD, return to Canada and then you can submit a form to CBSA asking for a release of your PR card. There is no penalty and it is not a criminal offence, but on a case by case basis, CBSA may confiscate immigration documents that are being shipped outside Canada that they suspect to be used for illegal activities/immigration fraud.

Thanks @legalfalcon . I have stayed in The Netherlands from the time I received the ITA till I got the passport request letter i.e my country of residence was The Netherlands in the whole process and I had given the same details in my application as well. Why did I receive the passport request letter from New Delhi visa office then? Is it fine that I submit the passport to my nearest VFS center still?
Don;t go by who sent the PPR. See the instructions. Are they for submitting the Passport in your country or in India.

A PPR can be sent by any officer, within the domestic or international network.

Thank you, @legalfalcon !
Also, regarding the proper authorization you mentioned, can it be satisfied by an affidavit that includes statements such as "I (alex4936) authorize/order the mail forwarding and I (alex4936) am the sole recipient of this mail" ? Or the proper authorization refers to certain documents issued by CBSA or other Canadian government agencies?

Thanks again!

@legalfalcon I ordered GCMS notes 2 months ago, but still not received and no extension email received? what to expect?
IRCC has been facing rampant delays. There is nothing much you can do. See a recent final report n a complaint from OIC, wherein it tool 1 year fro IRCC to respond to a request for GCMS notes.

Greetings, dear @legalfalcon !
I hope you are doing well!
I have a small inquiry related to proof of funds during landing by air.
I am afraid to carry my finances in cash, and unfortunately, money transfer to Canadian banks makes me lose a lot in the exchange rate, on top of that my bank does not provide Traveler`s cheque or Banker`s drafts.
I was just wondering if I could keep my money in a savings account at a non-Canadian bank in Dubai (Emirates NBD) and show the latest bank statements, in case the immigration officer asks me to present proof of funds during landing?

I would love to hear your insightful reply to my inquiry.
Thanks a lot as always!

Hi @legalfalcon ,

My AOR is June 2021, All categories passed but one, Eligibility - Review Required
the reason for this status is unknown as I haven't received any ADR yet.
I have applied for GCMS/ATIP notes however it will take time to receive the notes.

  • could you please help with what are the next steps?
  • What are the things that I can do proactively to help expedite the processing ? (many comment that the Review Required eligibility status for them remained the same for months )
  • my Medicals expire in Sep 2022, do you think getting the remed and PCC beforehand would help in clearing the Eligibility status?
  • Is there any other way besides GCMS notes to know the additional documents required?

Really appreciate your time in answering the queries.

Thank you and look forward to your response.

Hi @legalfalcon.

It is such a rare and precious thing getting immigration advice from someone who is giving them out freely and devotedly.

I was a student in Canada 2017-2020 and through me, my family came to Canada and became Refugees. In their application they put me as the dependent and my PR application category is DR.

Unfortunately, due to some complications I travelled back to my home country in Dec 4th, 2020. I received the CoPR letter on Dec 16th, 2020 ( 2 weeks after leaving Canada ), but I was already outside Canada and couldn't send the requested photographs so they can issue my PR card. Also, my study permit expired in August of 2021 so right now I have no way to come back to Canada.

P.S: I never got my PR card because I was already outside Canada when I received my CoPR.

Is there any way for me to come back to Canada and maybe resume my studies or get a job?

Thank you for your time.

If you received a COPR, which is signed, i.e. you have a PR status, you can apply for a PRTD from the country you are currently residing in.
