Hi @legalfalcon I am an inland PNP applicant and I am planing to go back to my home country in December for a one month vacation. Do I have to inform this to the IRCC ?
If you are only visiting for a short duration, there is no need to inform IRCC.

Only if you permanently change your country of residence you have to update your address.

Hi legal falcon, i need your valuable help regarding my friend’s circumstances…
He is:
-LMIA exempted
-Nominated through SINP
-Visa expiring in December 2021
-Permit expiring in November 2021
- Paperbased Application for PR submitted in April 2021 and havent heard anything and haven’t received AOR
-contract with employer is continuous

What are the requirements to renew?

How long is the processing time?

What will happen if processing will take time and visa/permit expires?

. Thank you in advance

SDS is only available to residents of some countries. So there is a pre-requisite of being residing in those countries when you apply.

If you are not from a visa-exempt country, you will have to update your address with IRCC to be able to submit your passport when you are in another country.
@legalfalcon
Thank you for your response. Yes, I’m from the Philippines which is a country listed in SDS. I reside in the Philippines as what is indicated in my application but I am anticipating that I will be in the US for some important matters when the results come in. I just want to clarify, if IRCC will accept for me to submit my passport in the US instead of Philippines once approved and once I advise that I am currently in the US. Hope you can guide me on this. Thank you

Good Day LegalFalcon and everyone else in this forum,

First, thank you all for your kindness and for trying to help others.

I would like to have your insights into my situation.

  • I have a pending permanent residence application since March 2020 (me, my wife, and our minor child)
  • I am now enrolled in a one-year program at a Designated learning institution (DLI) and received my student visa recently. My wife and son didn’t apply for a visa and are staying in our home country.

From what I have read and understood is that I can apply for PGWP or an Open work permit after graduation. Then, before my PGWP expires, I will have to apply for a Bridging open work permit (BOWP).

My question is how/when could I bring my wife and son to live with me in Canada?

Should I apply for their open work permit (wife) and study permit (son) at the same time when applying for the PGWP/Open work permit? Or after I get the PGWP?

I am confused and any help would be very much appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

If you are in another country at the time when you receive the request to submit your passport, you can request IRCC to allow you to submit the passport in that country. However, it will be at the discretion of IRCC since study visa applications are usually processed in the country of residence of the applicant.

IF you have received a study permit, your family can apply for a visa now and your spouse will be eligible for an open work permit and your minor child can apply for a visitor's visa, which can then be extended.

If the PR is in process, you can apply for a BOWP.

Hi @legalfalcon

Hope you're well. My medicals would expire in less than a month. Do you think it's advisable to wait for IRCC's directives or go for another upfront medicals then upload via webform? My medical profile is M1.

As per the most recent instructions, IRCC is asking not to get medical done unless specifically asked.

It is your choice. However, the upfront sheet you received, that is what you have to send to IRCC.

The medical report, if you want you can ask for a copy from your doctor.
