First of all you have to figure out where your submitted your application as an individual in Canada or outside Canada. If it was submitted as an individual in Canada then you will have to contact CPC Ottawa, if it was outside Canada, then it will be at VO in your current country of residence.

You can call IRCC and asked or your primary VO.

Can you advise on POF?
I submitted my pof on Dec 22,2019 showing around 17000 cad, while the requirement for 2 people that IRCC demanded at that time was 15772 cad.

Now with increase in cad to inr conversion in the past 1.5 years, when I submitted my pof docs at that time cad to inr was around 54INR - 1 CAD but at the moment it is about to touch 60INR - 1CAD.
And with my eligibility status as already PASSED and Funds criteria as MET as per the gcms notes, then do you think I should send updated POF statement to IRCC?
Also, if I send updated Pof documents then will it lead to my eligibility being checked again and my file would be opened again due to 1 additional document being sent?
I’m afraid that if it is opened again then they’ll take ages to process my eligibility again as PASSED.

Please advise.

What is Dual intent ?​

• worker

Having 2 intents (1 for temporary residence and 1 for permanent residence) is legitimate. This section addresses how to apply subsection 22(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) to the decision-making process.

The possibility that an applicant for temporary residence may, at some point in the future, be approved for permanent residence does not absolve the individual from meeting the requirements of a temporary resident, specifically the requirement to leave Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay, in accordance with section 179 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR).

1. To get a AL you either need a PR visa or a TRV. You cannot get an AL in anticipation, though you can try.

2. Under the extended family reunification, you can, but it is discretionary.

3. The AL by itself will not expedite the process. Usually applicants request for an AL after they have a COPR or they request for AL along with filing for a TRV.

4. After security is passed, a final review is done to ensure that all your documents are valid and not expired before the PPR / COPR can be sent to you. Security is usually valid after it is done. A validity period is only for TRVs.

5. IRCC is continuing to issue PPRs to outlast applicants of regular intervals.

I was looking into the shared link and I surfed the pages of the Immigration Control (IC) Manual Chapter 1 – Security Screening
It seems that both the security screening results TRVs and permanent resident applicants have a certain validity and that those validity dates were hidden.

Section 10.10 shows a table of the validity of screening results for TRV where all the cells are blanked on purpose.

Section 11.4 shows a table of the validity of screening results for permanent residents visas. It seems that the cell for “Favorable – CSIS” is originally empty.

This is what most applications are, i..e they have GCMS notes showing approved and waiting for a COPR.

1. IRCC is backlogged with medicals, so if you have submitted new medicals, then most likely they have not been reviewed. Once they are reviewed, they will be valid for 1 year. Depending on whether your criminality and security chances have expired and ned to be re-done, IRCC will do a final review before sending a COPR.

2. Approved means that all stages have passed. However, like medicals security and criminality are valid for s specific time. If they expire, then will have to be extended or re-done. The eligibility once approved will not have to be redone.

3. You will be sent new documents with new dates.

4. It is not necessary that it will show passed. It can be redacted (blank). See your admissibilities - security section fo GCMS.

5. Because they have not issued you one and your application status is open.

6. applications are put in groups and your was CN COVID pace and application put on hold.

Security screening does have a shelf life, just that in the manual it has been redacted, so we are unclear what the duration is. Since security screening is a time consuming process, and takes a long time, once done, redoing it, logically won't make any sense unless the individual parameters of an application mandate it. This is my opinion.

Since the procedure for the security screening information is not disclosed, and what ever is disclosed is available on the post I shared, https://bit.ly/3apWglN which also has the security screening manual.

Just like medicals and criminality, security also has a shelf life. Since it is not disclosed, we cannot speculate how long it is. Also, security is based on multiple parameters and with COVID, lot of internal policy directives have be issued, such as extending medicals, and the same should be for security and criminality too.

The eligibility note that you see is a recommendation, which will have to be reviewed by an officer before a final determination is made. You can send a webform and clarify the LMIA number and provide the documents too.

Also, make sure that your offer of employment meets the following:

Also make sure that your order letter states that the offer is for "for at least one year after IRCC issues you a permanent resident visa"

Most likely this is an oversight, but it is always better to cross the requirements and make sure that IRCC has all documents.

Our COPR expired in June 2020 since we could not travel due to travel curbs imposed due to COVID. We are still in our home country. We received an email from IRCC asking if we are still interested to immigrate to which we said yes and we now wait for next steps to be shared by them. Most probably, it will be re medical request from my and my wife (primary applicant). Will the new COPR validity be same as expiry of the new medical?

To add , In the current circumstance, how will IRCC go about the process of adding a new born ? There is a real scenario where we may not be able to travel before expiry of new COPR if my wife is late into pregnancy and it will not advisable to travel coupled with COVID related health risks

Will they allow us to wait till the new born is born and all of us ready to fly?

IRCC has clarified:

Minimum work experience requirement
The applicant must have accumulated at least one year of continuous full-time (or the equivalent in part-time) paid work experience in the occupation identified in their application for permanent residence as their primary occupation. In calculating this period of work experience, the occupation must be listed in skill type 0 (Managerial occupations), skill level A (Professional occupations) or skill level B (Technical occupations and skilled trades) of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2016 [R75(2)(a)].
The applicant’s skilled work experience must also

• have occurred within the ten years preceding the date of their application for permanent residence; and
• not be in an occupation that has been designated as a restricted occupation.

Note: At the time of publication, no occupations were designated as restricted.
In addition, during that period of employment, the applicant must have

• performed the actions described in the lead statement for the occupation as set out in the occupational description of the NOC [R75(2)(b)]; and
• performed a substantial number of the main duties, including all of the essential duties, of the occupation as set out in the occupational description of the NOC [R75(2)(c)].

Note: The applicant does not need to demonstrate that they meet the “employment requirements” listed in the NOC occupational description.

There is nothing as once eligibility is passed, it will remain passed. Until your application is processed, IRCC can review your documents or ask for additional documents.

However, the eligibility is based on mainly verifying your NOC / work experience / language score / educational assessment which once done, need not be done again since it will not change as it is the past.

However, for any thing that is variable, it will have a shelf life. Criminality (if your change your country fo residence) and even if yo do not, you will be asked the criminality based questions when you enter canada.

The same is with security .

COPR / PRV is issued for 3-6 months but cannot be beyond the expiry of your passport or medicals, whichever expires earlier.

You cannot add a baby until it is being. Legally, an unborn child is not considered a legal entity. If you want to travel before your child is born, you can do so and if your child is born in Canada, the child will be a citizen by birth. If you want to wait until after your baby is born, you can inform IRCC and an extension will be given.

Once your baby is born, you can submit the documents for you baby, your application will be re-opened and once the documents are processed, new COPRs will be issued to all individuals in the application.
