Hi legal falcon,
Thanks for this great thread you are responding on. i have some quick questions:
1) Do I need a PCC for my distance learning program? Both my ACCA and B.Sc are from UK but I haven't physically been in UK ever. Please advise so that I can request a PCC in due time.
or shall I mention this in LOE saying I have never physically been in UK and this was distance learning degree? Don't want to risk rejection due to this.
There is no need for a PCC for a distance learning course. You only need PCC for countries where an individual has lived for a total of six months or more. <http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp>
2) I had started my ACCA in 2009 and cleared fundamental levels in June 2011 - professional exams took longer and completed in Jan 2015. However, I started working since Feb 2011 to June 2015 (NOC 1212) and then switched in June 2015 to present (NOC 1112)
I claimed 3 plus years of experience and got ITA but when I am filling the work experience, its asking me for Primary NOC where they can assess my application and the
date I qualified to practice that.
In order not to lose points in post-ITA assessment, shall I make NOC 1212 as the base/primary NOC as that has lesser education requirement i.e not requiring Bachelors. That way, I can claim that June 2011, I had fundamental level of ACCA cleared allowing me to work in that skill level and claiming 3 years experience in NOC 1212. Later I can proof - NOC 1112 as having 1.5 years experience and completed my ACCA in Jan 2015 can support that.
These ar two different things. Your primary NOC is the profession that you do and would like to pursue. The work experience can be shown as a combination of different NOCs. <http://www.cic.gc.ca/english//resources/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob173.asp#tphp>. To answer the date when you were qualified to practice, you will have to write the date when you got the license or when the certificate was awarded.
Please suggest if that is the correct way?
3) Would it matter if I change my NOC Code in my e-APR where as my EE profile had 1112 as primary NOC? Do I need to update job bank accordingly as well then?
You can change your NOC code post ITA and give an LoE as to why you did that. All you have to remember is that your number of years of work experience should not change. It can increase, but not go down.
Thanks,
Sam
