Hi Legal falcon,

I have a question about Police Clearance certificate. I am a Bangladeshi National. I started residing in Dubai-UAE since the age of 5 five years till the year 2002. I have shifted to Abu Dhabi-UAE in the year 2002 after my marrige and living and working here till now. My question is Do I need to collect PCC from (1) Bangladesh, (2) Dubai-UAE (3) Abu Dhabi-UAE to submit my Permanent residence application? Note that I did not stayed in Bangladesh more than 6 month at a time in my life time.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi,

I have seen some posts regarding the relevance of a local visa office. Could you please shed some light on the following for me.

Is there any way to gleam from the fact that your application has been sent to the LVO what this means in terms of processing? (i.e. have you passed eligibility, security)
Will the file be sent back to CPC in Ottawa? Or does file stay with LVO until PPR?
What checks are done at LVO?
Can you contact LVO to find out status of application? If so, how would you structure the e-mail?

Thanks

Hi @legalfalcon

Hope you are doing great. I am actually standing at 435 and entered into the pool on January 2nd. I have been in a major dilemma about whether I should go with Oinp when it opens or I might receive a direct ITA.

So, according to your experience and considering the current situation what would you advice me to do? And even if I can expect direct ITA, when do you think the cutoff can get to that level?

I am exceedingly worried and your advice will mean a lot for me. Thanks : )

There is no correlation between the email and and any specific stage, at least there is no hard core evidence. To know what stage your application has reached, GCMS is the only way.

To read on the different stages an application goes through see:

As per IRCC the rules for the PCC are:

  • For the applicant’s current country of residence, the police certificate must have been issued no more than six months before the submission of the e-APR.
  • For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant lived in that country.
  • Police certificates are required up front and are mandatory for each country (except Canada) where an individual has lived for a total of six months or more.
In your case, since you moved out of Bangladesh before you turned 18 and never returned back, you do not need a PCC from Bangladesh.

You do need a PCC from UAE. There is no separate PCC for Dubai and Abu Dhabi, there is just one PCC for the entire UAE. See https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how/united-arab-emirates.html

This is a generic reply. What do your GCMS notes say? Have you passed eligibility?

If you see the different cut-off, the CRS has gone below 435. See https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/rounds-invitations/results-previous.html

When it will dip, cannot be predicted. It is your call. Whether you want to wait or take the PNP route. The only disadvantage of PNP is additional time to obtain the provincial nomination and the cost.

Also make sure you know your obligations as PNP nominee- see
https://www.getgcms.com/blog/understanding-provincial-nomination-pogram/

@legalfalcon hi there! Yesterday when I called self service, it said no additional documents needed and background check in progress. When I checked again, BG was NA. What does this mean for my timeline? Could PPR be right around the corner, or are other checks being done? I know I already passed eligibility and I’m waiting for my GCMS notes. I’m FSW-O, Aug AOR, RPRF paid, ADR with deadline of Jan 5 (third time because of a system glitch), and this is the first real change since MEP in September. Thanks!

Hi @legalfalcon. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to patiently reply to each one heŕe. We really appreciate your help.
I'm fswo applicant from india aor 9th June 2017. I ordered gcms notes which indicates that my medical eligibility and criminality passed. there's a whole page with s15 (1) security of myself and spouse that has been redacted. also under activities there are 4 entries whither my spouse name and they are blank with s16 (c) on top.
I read on another thread by you that once an applicant who worked for an employer who went bankrupt had similar issue s16 (c). my spouse had also worked with a company that went bankrupt but he quit the job before it shut down. there is a case against the owner of this company still on going in india. my question is: will our application be stuck due to this case till the case ends or will cic grant ppr as my husband is not involved in the fraud? I'll be highly obliged if you would reply to my querry. what happened in the previous case? was the person whose employer became bankrupt granted pr?
Thank you

hello @legalfalcon

1.can u please clarify this about work experience requirement that
You must have at least one year, in the last ten years before you submit your electronic application for permanent residence, of continuous full-time work experience
what does continuous means? as If I am working on contractual basis for 6 months and then have a couple of months as holidays in between then can I count all those contractual work as continuous?

2. In my work history, I am doing two jobs back and forth (like one year with one side then 6 months with other, not a fixed pattern) with two companies(different NOC) one being the very low-income job on basis of which I am claiming points, with the second job in between which is highly paid and I go to different countries on that. My question is that post-ITA is this will be a problem that they will raise a question that why I was working on low salary why not continued my other job? or they will be only concerned with the things of which I am claiming points? and what will be the all checks after ITA

please enlighten and thank you

Dear @legalfalcon , I have applied for PCC in my country on 15.12.2017. Today I got the PCC and it says that upto 15.12.2017 there are no cases against me. Is it going to be a problem since it says only upto 15.12.2017? I am yet to receive ITA.
