Hi Legalfalcon,

Yesterday I received My ielts score and My crs jumped from 386 to 450.

I just have one query regarding education.
I completed my bachelors degree via distance education while doing job in EE profile I should mention it as part time degree or full time degree.
They dont have any option for distance/correspondence degree.

Thanks

Dear Legalfalcon,

I tried to get this answer from other posts, however was not able to. I hope you can answer me with your experience.

In my Passport my complete name is mentioned in " Given Name" and nothing is mentioned in first name. Though I went to US once, however I wrote FNU in my surname and complete name in Given name and I was issued a B1/2 visa.

Now I am planning to apply for EE. I have below question:-

1- As all my docs (educational/ finances) have name as First name - Max Last Name - Pandey, however my passport is not having first name at all. Will that be an issue.

2- Do I need to get passport amended or an affidavit will be sufficient?

3- If I do not get the issue corrected, can this lead to a document mismatch?

Thanks for your help in advance

Thanks
Max

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Dear Legalfalcon,

I have a question regarding the ECA of a pharmacy degree.

I have read that is it optional to either do ECA at PEBC ( the licencing body in Canada) or do it anywhere (e.g. WES).

My question is, if someone applied to WES and the report said that the degree in equivalent to 5 yeas Canadian degree in Pharmacy, will he take the 126 points for professional degree ?

or to get the 126 point for professional degrees he has to go through PEBC ?

In other words, is there any difference to do ECA at WES or PEBC (assuming that the result will be that the degree will be accepted) ?

Hi,
I have a situation and would appreciate if someone would help me out.
I am completing 3 years of work ex in August on the 20th but i got the additional 25 points for 3 years of work ex in July itself, taking my CRS score to 447. (This is not my fault as they only ask the start date and whether it is your current job).
Now if i get the ITA in the next draw what should i do? Do i accept it?
Can @legalfalcon guide me?
If its just 2 weeks, there is no need to worry about as by the time the ITA comes you will have had the complete 3 years.

What does your ECA say about your education?

Hi, Thank you for taking out time for me. so my joining date was 20th of August so if there is a draw in this week would I get the ITA immediately? If yes then it'll be 4 weeks before the 20th of August. I'm not sure what to do.

@legalfalcon Any idea on how long does it take for FBI PCC sent by US Post to reach India?
FBI will post the Check summary (PCC) vis first class mail. Within continental US, it takes 7-10 days, depending on where you are located. The FBI CJIS centre is in West Virginia, if you are located on the East Coast, you may receive the PCC within 2-4 days.

However, if you are in India, it will take almost month, and even longer in some cases. The best would be to give a local address in the US. They can open the document, scan it and send it to you. and mail the original by fedex.

Your identity document is your passport. So you will have to write your name as it appears in your passport and send a LoE explaining why your name is different on your education documents and Passport. If you can get your passport corrected, that would be the best.

2- Do I need to get passport amended or an affidavit will be sufficient?
If you can, that would be great, as what appears in your passport will also be there on your PR card, health card, bank documents and then it will be an issue. If you can get it corrected now, that would be ideal.

3- If I do not get the issue corrected, can this lead to a document mismatch?
No, as long as you explain the discrepancy.

Thanks for your help in advance

Thanks
Max

The IRCC website states:

  • as a pharmacist (NOC 3131):
    • if you need a license to practice (for example, providing patient care in a community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, long term care facility or other practice settings) the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) must do your ECA,
    • if you are in a position where you do not need a license (organizations such as the pharmaceutical industry and government which require a pharmacy degree because of the education or skill set, but may not require a licence to practice pharmacy), you can have your credentials assessed by one of the other designated ECA organizations. Contact the regulatory authority in the province where you plan to live to find out if you need a licence to practice your intended occupation.
To answer, it will not matter whether you get the ECA from WES or PEBC. However, if you want to become a Pharmacist in Canada, it would be better to get your ECA from PEBC so that you can use it to star your process. However, if you do not want to get a Pharmacist license, you can get it done from WES or any other agency.

If WES give the equivalency of your degree as a 5 year Pharmacology degree in Canada, you can claim points for Professional Education.

I am going with double degree this is what making My score 450.

Only concern is with distance education I should use full time degree or part time degree.

Because I was working while studying.
