Hi @legalfalcon

Is PRTD tough to get from LVO's like SGVO?

I heard it needs a lot of convincing to the officer to get PRTD, do you think it is true? is it that hard?

how long it usually takes at max to receive PRTD after application and what is the usual validity of PRTD usually? thank sir

PRTD is not tough to get. As long as you have legal status in Canada as a PR, you can get a PRTD. However, the processing times differ from VO to VO.

Hi legalfalcon,
I'm a PNP applicant with AOR April, 2019. My file has been in the interview queue since Oct, 2019. From CSBA notes, I knew the immigration officer made some comments and assigned interviews. Due to a pandemic situation, When the interview wd be scheduled is yet to know. In these circumstances, Can I send a reply referring to the CSBA notes comment? Is there any issue forbidding applicant to reply CSBA comments?
Thnaks

@legalfalcon I have a quick question:

I recently got nominated by Alberta and am currently getting all my documents together to give myself as much runway as possible before the ITA.

I lived and worked in the US until 2019. I got my FBI identity history check at the time I created my EE profile in July, 2021. Would this document (issued in August, 2021) suffice for my PR application or will I need to request it again? I have not visited the US since I left in 2019. Thanks.

AOR- March 06th, 2020
VO- Ottawa
FSW Outland
COR- India
Remedical request- 23rd November
Remedicals done- 01st December
Remedicals Pass- 10th December
PPR- 31st January 2022

Wish the best for everyone!

Also, a quick question-
@legalfalcon really appreciate if you could help me here.
I am the dependent in the applicant. I had sent a webform of updated passport and address in September 2021. I have not received any response to it.
However, recently I contacted the IRCC agent and she mentioned that the communication has been received about the updated address and the passport.

Now, my question is, do i have to mention again in the email that my adress is changed?

Hi, @legalfalcon

Is there a way to access old applications? I do not remember the start month of my post secondary education when I applied for the study visa. Now, I am applying for FCP and need to give my education history but do not remember the exact start month I gave when I applied for study visa 10 years ago.

My certificates do not have a start date.

Hi @legalfalcon hope you are in good health. I am feb 2021 AOR, my file has shifted to NDVO and i Mailed them to ask the status of my PR application to which they have replied as under.
"Thank you for your email. Please be advised that once your permanent resident application has been finalized, IRCC will be in contact with you, until then please continue to verify the status of your application through your IRCC SECURE ACCOUNT to find out if any additional information has being requested."

This says my application has been finalized. Does this mean I have passed the eligibility and need to wait for PPR?

Please reply sir.

You can give an approximate month and explain it in LoE.

To access an old application, you will have to retrieve it through GCMS notes.

Most likely you have passed all stages and you should soon receive a PPR.

As per IRCC:

or countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant stayed in that country for 6 months or more in a row.

As long as you meet the above you are fine.

You can surely quote and refer to your GCMS notes, it's neither forbidden nor is it wrong.

Hi @legalfalcon what about for PRs with no PR card returning to Canada, that have visa on arrival? Will they need to apply for PRTD as well? Thanks.
PRTD is required if you do not have a PR card and have a PR status.
