Thanks for your response, please let me know if my understanding is correct:

1. Inform IRCC I got a positive LMIA via webfrom.
2. Apply as a TFW which is separate from my current PR application.
3. Once I arrive in Canada as a TFW, inform IRCC again via webform about my new Canadian address.

Or I don't have to do #1? Would the TFW be automatically linked to my PR application?
You do not have to inform IRCC of LMIA. This has nothing to do with your PR application.

Only after you move to Canda do you have to update your address.

You can land at any airport, land border crossing, water entry etc. There is no requirement for landing in the destination listed on your COPR.
@legalfalcon ok thank you. Also, it is quite confusing because my letter that came with copr says that "You won't be allowed to board your flight at this time." At the same time the letter says that it is your responsibility to check the website with the updated instructions. But on the wesbite they say that with a test and that if you are vaccinated, you can travel. I will be travelling from the USA.

So can I travel to accept my PR? The contradiction is confusing me. Also which category does the travel for accepting PR come under? Is it discretionary travel?

Thanks

Hello @legalfalcon ,

I have requested gcms notes and as per the notes it says :"Pending security assesment- Due date pushed 30 days;awaiting officer review". It shows that security not started however, there are 2 exemptions 13(1)a and 16(1)(c). The due date has already passed 2 months still not recieved any update. Could you please advise/suggest what could be done ? Thank you for your help and advise !

The exemptions you see, i.e. s13(1)(a) and s16(1)(c) pertain to the Access to Information Act:

information obtained in confidence
  • 13 (1) Subject to subsection (2), the head of a government institution shall refuse to disclose any record requested under this Part that contains information that was obtained in confidence from
    • (a) the government of a foreign state or an institution thereof;

(1) The head of a government institution may refuse to disclose any record requested under this Part that contains
  • (c) information the disclosure of which could reasonably be expected to be injurious to the enforcement of any law of Canada or a province or the conduct of lawful investigations, including, without restricting the generality of the foregoing, any such information
    • (i) relating to the existence or nature of a particular investigation,
    • (ii) that would reveal the identity of a confidential source of information, or
    • (iii) that was obtained or prepared in the course of an investigation; or
  • (d) information the disclosure of which could reasonably be expected to be injurious to the security of penal institutions.

IRCC can use these sections to redact info. See https://bit.ly/3m7O4gG

As regards the due date, it says security assessment pending, which would indicate that either the security has not been initiated or the report has been sent to IRCC and awaiting an assessment from an officer. To read more on security screening, the manual and how it is done see https://bit.ly/3GGyq3y

You can travel as long as you meet the Public Health guidelines.

Hi @legalfalcon, our application is now 40 months, even though it was approved in November last year but still no pr.we got a notice for the 3rd remedicals last month and it has been submitted and still no PR. I was hoping that with this remedicals the PR would be issued.we currently live in the US.I was wondering if you have any insight as to what could be the problem and what can be done and also if there are others in similar situation.

There is no problem with the application, the problem is with the processing. You will just have to wait.

Dear @legalfalcon maybe you have any ideas why some people don’t receive GCMS for 3+ months while others receive it within 30 days even if they applied later?

Like, why don’t they process the people who applied first? Or they just don’t want to release the notes for some reasons?
Thanks

Dear @legalfalcon please give advice how to speed up our process or how much time do we need to wait more to get ppr?
Fsw-o, VO Ottawa, AOR March 2020, remed passed 30th November, uploaded the updated police clearance certificates and their status 11 December - we are reviewing your documents.

I am pregnant and could get on board of the airplane only till mid January....( Are there any chance to get ppr soon?)

It is just typical IRCC and no specific reason. IRCC has been experiencing delays since 2019.

Instead of requesting GCMS notes from IRCC, you can consider requesting them from CBSA. See https://bit.ly/3IT1F4Z

There is no way to expedite the process. If there has been an inordinate delay, you can consider Mandamus, see https://bit.ly/3F2Y6a4
