Thanks Asivad,

Yes, It is an international travel.

In the same form(IMM0008) it asks about previous countries of residence, "state the countries you lived more than six months", I am wondering whether it is six a continuous months or is it like the police certificate on accumulative basis as I stayed in a country once for 5 months and the other time for one month.

I also want ask you if In case of dual citizenship, the form asks to list both citizenships but it only asks for the info of one passport, shall I include the details of one passport only or shall I add an extra page for the second passport?

Initially I was sent a tourist visa by my sponsor company in Dubai as they wanted me to settle down first. After my arrival on 24th February 2014, they initiated the process to sponsor my employment. I received an Employment Entry Permit (red paper visa) on 6th of March 2014 with a validity period of 30 days. However, in order for me to have the 2 year employment visa stamped on my passport, I had to provide the 30 day entry permit containing an entry stamp by UAE immigration. As I was already inside the UAE and had previously entered on a tourist visa, therefore, in order to have the employment permit stamped by the UAE immigration, I had to exit the country and re-enter. Thus, my sponsor booked flights for me to and from the nearest country, which is Qatar. I took a flight out of UAE on the evening of 23rd March 2014 and returned, without exiting the Qatar airport (hence no immigration stamps from Qatar), during the early hours of 24th March 2014 and had my employment entry permit stamped.

My passport contains stamps of exit from UAE on 23 March 2014 and entry in to UAE on 24 March 2014.

1. Is an explanation letter sufficient to address this?

2. How should I enter it in travel history?

6 months, not necessarily in a row.

Add the bio page(s) of valid passport. No harm in providing that information from both passports.

Yes. But I don't imagine there is anything to be explained here.

2. How should I enter it in travel history?

Exactly as it happened. Travel history doesn't require any proof so there is nothing to worry about here.

Asivad,

Thanks for all your help. Your intelligence, empathy, and no-bullshit attitude has been - dare I say it - a godsend to this forum (this coming from an atheist :D). Personally, you've answered my questions multiple times, which have been very helpful. I particularly appreciated your answer re: my question about self-employment vs. contract employment. I followed your advice and things worked out smoothly. I got PPR recently and my application is now "approved," thanks largely to you (and a whole bunch of other posters in here, of course).

Merci Beaucoup [limit of my French skills]. Thank you.

Finally, I and I'm sure many others would appreciate if you would write more about your experiences in Canada so far. I believe you've written about it somewhere, but have you created an exclusive thread yet? Please do share.

Cheers!

Hello Asivad,

Thank you for all your support. I just wanted to ask you few more things

1) Is Thomas Cook traveler's Cheque accepted now since I have heard that most of the banks in Canada won't accept Traveler's Cheque now (not sure whether this is correct or not)?

2) Can we take Masala Powders with us. If so do we need to declare?

3) If we are taking our Credit Card do we have to declare the total limit amount in CAD ?

Thanks in advance,
RJ

Congratulations! I never got around to creating a separate thread but I did post some experiences here in March/April. I'll search for those and link those posts on this post later.
