Sounds confusing to me, but I get it!!

Could you please suggest the most appropriate Visa category in this case? Thanks a lot for your time! I really appreciate it!
It depends on what outcome you need here. If you don't mind the delay in getting them PR, apply for visitor visa or find an employer for them so that they can apply for work permit. Once they are in Canada (and you are PR), you can explore sponsorship opportunities. I would still think the easiest way of dealing with this is to get your PR decision together. All other routes take much longer, just saying.

All the best!

Hi Asivad I posted in a separate thread too but I have a few more doubts.

I got secretly married and divorced about 4 years back. Hardly anyone knows about it and My status shows single in all documents.

I am planning to keep the marital status as single in post ITA form than divorced.

I believe it isn't as major as being Married and reporting as single as some applicants do (to get points or due to lack of funds etc).

Considering that my case wont burden the Canadian economy. I cant think of anyway single status is different than divorce from a Visa officer point of view or a PR granting country point of view.

I know there is a risk. But I wish to ask is there any way out? For ex: I read in the CIC website that some things like being widow and reporting single may be taken as mistake and not exactly misrepresentation.

Is it that the married people or people who try to sponsor their spouses are scrutinized more than singles. That seems logical too.

Please guide about your idea on how CIC verifies Marital status. Thanks.

Also My next question is If you think it is an extremely bad idea- please suggest how do I go about correcting it now. I have my ITA and have collected almost all documents i.e. medical pcc. Should I decline ITA and just update marital status in EE profile and wait for next draw? or Should I decline ITA and delete EE profile and create entirely new EE profile too?

Thanks a lot for your help as always.

Hi guys, I have been trying to submit my application since yesterday but couldnt due to the CIC web being down, now its up and I tried to submit and make payments but at first attempt it showed that my payment was declined and transaction not approved and after second attempt it took me to a page that says that it could take upto 24hrs and now my application details shows processing submission. please will like to know if that means the payment has gone through or if thats not normal.

Will appreciate your responses as i have just 1 day left to go

Recommend that you choose 'Divorced'. You'll just be required to provide legal papers confirming this divorce. Your ex-spouse is irrelevant to your PR application.

I'm not entirely sure if you can change your marital status in your post ITA application. If you can do that now, go ahead and upload required legal documents confirming this divorce. If you can't edit marital status in your post ITA application AND you have a high enough score, recommend that your decline this ITA and wait for the next draw. If you don't have a high enough score to guarantee an ITA in the near future, continue with 'Single' status and hopefully nothing comes up in background verification.

All the best!

You'll have to wait it out. Did you check with your bank/credit card company about this transaction? Has it been debited from your account already?

Check if there is a pending transaction- the money took about 24 hours to be debited from my account, but it showed up as a pending transaction right away.

Okay, there is a very simple way to know if the application went through- you know how at the bottom of your MyCIC page, there is a page for your Express Entry profile, where you get your messages from CIC, and you can see your CRS? It is under the section 'View My Submitted Applications and Profiles'
If your eAPR went through, a second application will show up at the bottom right above your EE profile. The table will specifically say 'Permanent Residence' in application type (your EE application says 'Express Entry' in application type) It will have the same file number as your Express Entry application.
Does this show up?

Thanks a lot Asivad. I have a score of 481. so I can decline ITA and then change my marital status in ee profile. Hopefully draw happens soon.
I have done medical already i.e. 25 Feb. Will that be ok? Thanks again.

Can experts in this forum advise me ?

I am FSW outland applicant with score of 969. Got PPR and submitted PP to NDVO on 2nd March. I am expecting my COPR and passport back in next week. Despite negotiating to full extent, my employer is asking me to join within 15 days and he says he cannot think anything beyond that. Due to some unavoidable circumstances and my notice period of 30 days in current organisation, I cannot land their before May 1st.
What if he rejects the offer at this stage. very worried.

Thanks
