I applied for study permit .my eligibility is completed today .Background verification is in progress.I didn't do upfront medical .I got Bvl pn 23rd september 2024 ...Can i get medical request or i will get a refusal..please help

In December 2022, I successfully passed the test. However, since then, I have not received any further information or updates regarding the status of my application.
A year ago MP told me that RCMP is checking my file and that it can take one week or 5 years (!!!) Since then I have heard about people who have been expecting for 9 years!
Do they really have no legal terms for processing Citezenship applications? Should I contact MP again or request ATIP? Any ideas what can help in this case? One former MP told me that they call these cases "black box" and noone can actually help. Is it true? Thanks to everyone in advance.

Yes, it is still in progress. In February it will be 3 years since AOR and in December 2 years since passing the test. Any advice what to take?

Looks like you are stuck in Security screening. Did you get GCMS notes?

Security Assessments/Advice (CSIS PPU 005): The Security Screening case is still in progress.

I could not find more details on CSIS PPU 005. If anyone has gone through this, could let me know more details or correct link to read through this information.

Also, if anyone's background got completed recently after waiting for long period of time ?

Should we approach a lawyer to produce additional documents to clear background verification ?

Hi,

I have applied for CSIS notes twice in the past. In both cases they have provided a PDF saying that it is in progress and that they cannot disclose more information.
The only use case for CSIS notes in my opinion is just to confirm that they are indeed working on your security clearance.

Hi, I am also in the same boat like many here. Applied in March 2023 as a family. First fingerprint submitted in 2023 June.
Citizenship test completed and updated in December 2023. Second fingerprint request received and submitted in April 2023.
Except the test, all other fields are pending for me and my spouse's Background also completed.
MPs office informed that my application is a 'non-routine' case now and security is pending with the CSIS.
I have requested two ATIPs to CBSA and CSIS and waiting!
I renewed my PR card as it will be expiring this month end.

Some people are still waiting since April/May but someone recently passed background check after 15 months. Personally if mine doesn't clear after 16 months I'll go for Mandamus.

I am not sure if it is 14-16 months anymore. I just passed 16 months and I am still waiting

Hi, my background check is updated as completed on 23 October after 18+ months! LPP is still pending!
Also received a mail today from IRCC with the instructions to download the Citizenship documents.
Anyone has any clues what's happening?
