Its kinda useless, the only thing you may learn is the status (in progress, completed...) but no other detail at all.

I see IRCC as weak in this background checks thing. They just sit back like some dormant institution and allow CSIS to spend as many years as they preferred in name of the so-called security checks perhaps on innocuous applicants. It is surprising these two institution do not have timeline or have not agreed on timeline for background checks.
Now if you carefully look at the reasons for their screening, it is mind boggling they spend that much time background checking applicants. If someone is a security threat or is engaged in hostile and subversive activities whether now or in the past, under normal circumstance, they should not be spending years trying to figure the person out. It is like a fire truck arriving to fire scene three days after the fire started. System needs fixing but because this aspect concerns immigrants, no one cares. Totally unacceptable to spend months and years on security screening a person as if they committed the biggest crime in the world. Most people who are victims of this extended backgrounds have clean criminal records and never engaged in any crime. If you are agent of CSIS and you are reading this, please tell your institution they can do better than what is going on now!

Brother lets make a watsapp group first. Needs to unite to get results sooner. We hv paid to ircc application fees, now its their responsibility to give us any timeline or any timeframe. Its so annoying.

Quick question - After I applied for citizenship, I traveled outside the country (in and out the same day), do I need to raise a web form to update my application with the travel details?

Would that have any bearing on the application?

New travel has no impact on already submitted citizenship application. IRCC is not interested in it.

• My background check was completed on October 21,
• LPP completed on October 23,
• I received the Oath invite on October 25, and
• I attended the Oath Ceremony today and received my citizenship certificate.

It’s been a long 20-month process, but I’m incredibly grateful to finally become a Canadian citizen. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the members of this forum who have shared valuable information and advice throughout the waiting period.

I’m excited to share that after a long wait, my citizenship journey has finally come to an end!

• My background check was completed on October 21,
• LPP completed on October 23,
• I received the Oath invite on October 25, and
• I attended the Oath Ceremony today and received my citizenship certificate.

It’s been a long 20-month process, but I’m incredibly grateful to finally become a Canadian citizen. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the members of this forum who have shared valuable information and advice throughout the waiting period.

I'm so worried about my parent's in law application.
They've submitted the application in Jan 3023
Aor Feb 22
1st Fingerprints April 17th
May 14th Fp recieved
May 16th bg completed for my mother in law only
Nov 14th in person interview was taken
After that Nov 15th Prohibition and physical presence for only my mom got completed.
May 13th bg for father turned green
Bg turned in progress again for both on August 26th 2024
Sept 9th, 2nd fingerprints request.
Oct 10th fp received
Oct 11th bg for both turned green
Oct 28th physical presence and prohibition for for my father turned green but for my mom prohibition went back to in progress.
No update since then.
So worried they are getting very upset. They've no travel history, aged people but still...so sad

I just got an update after waiting since July 2023. The language skills is now completed!! But the security clearance is still in progress I thought they won't work on my application until background check is completed. I guess I was wrong? OR it is completed but they haven't updated it on the tracker? What are your thoughts?

got Language updated on Nov 2nd. last update was March 2024. my feeling is they have got some hint or maybe report back from third party and they have started other parts while they are finalizing the BG. ( its just the assumption and not the fact )

i have seen some posts that their language and physical got updated and some just the language like you and me!

lets hope for the big update by the end of this year!

That is what I was thinking too! I had no updates for almost 1.5 years. They had so much time to update the language skills but did it JUST NOW! So it must mean something! Let's just hope for the best

I checked my tracker and it shows my language and physical are updated and completed now. It's a good news to me as everything was on silent for a long period of time. BG and prohibitions are still in progress. in 2 weeks I will pass 30 months of waiting
