Hello,

I am looking to apply for a visit visa for my parents (mother being primary applicant). Can I include my brother and sister-in law in the same application as well or should they file a separate application with (brother being primary applicant) ? According to IRCC, siblings are not considered immediate family members but extended family members. So confused on whether they can be included in the same application so that all 4 of them get visas processed around the same time.

Also can the form 5645E be handwritten in black ink after printing it out or should it only be typed in computer ? This is because there is a requirement to print your name in your native language. I m unable to merge the documents with names in native language as IMM5645E seems to be in a special format ? Is it ok if we just write our names in English and avoid writing them in our native languages ?

If your brother is over 22 (assume he is) then he has his own application with his wife. He is extended family and needs a visa and written authorization to travel. Your sister-in-law needs a visitor visa but is not your extended family so cannot travel until COVID travel restrictions are lifted. Only your brother can travel if approved. So not they would not be processed around the same time. If they haven’t done biometrics and offices aren’t open in their country then that is an issue too.

Thanks very much for the details. Can you also comment on other questions I had ?
Not sure but it is an electronic document that states to sign with an electronic signature. It is not a document to print out by hand, scan and submit. I would use English names but someone may have other ideas.

Hi Guys,

Can someone advise if it's wise to have brother and sister in law apply for visit visa separately or should they be included in same application as parents if they all plan to travel together ?

The brother and sister in law are together as one application and your mother is another application. Your brother is not the same application as your mother. Each has to show their own funds and ties to country. And your sister-in-law cannot travel as she is not your extended family. Your brother needs a visa and written authorization to travel and show his visit is essential.

They can't apply with their parents. They are considered two separate families. Your BIL can not travel with current travel restrictions and your sister would need special authorization (assume you are a PR or citizen).
