Can anyone help discuss with me just what temporary insurance is, what could be the best plan for me, and if I can get it during my wait here? Most insurance such as Blue Cross says I have to apply 30 days after arriving in Canada. Well I have been here for a year and a half so I am a bit late for that. Is there anyone that would let me apply after being here so long? Also, if I already have hospital bills from last year and buy temporary insurance, can it cover the costs?
I am just afraid that anything can happen within now and the time I get AIP so I want to be on the safe side. Could someone recommend some good/affordable companies? If it helps I am on implied status right now and currently residing in Newfoundland. I will answer any questions you have.
