Temp Visitors Visa with Criminal Convictions??

Hi,

I'd like to ask if anyone could shed some light on a query I have

I'm 27yrs old and a UK citizen, my fiance is a Canadian citizen and currently about to finish her 3rd year at a university in British Columbia. I would like to go visit her there and to meet her Parents/Family for the first time on a short vacation of perhaps 2 weeks next year.

Unfortunately I've been silly enough in the past to get myself a criminal record and even worse multiple convictions (none have a sentence that is 10yrs imprisonment or over), the last offence having been convicted in June 2007. Is there any way I could be granted a visa to visit her??

I'm currently in very good employment with a much higher than average income, have a stable home and family here in the UK. Since my last conviction I have changed lots in my life and I'm also now involved with young offender rehabilitation as a volunteer.

Any opinions or advice are most welcomed, if anyone has suggestions as to improve my likelihood of being granted a visa then please do comment

Ask at the Canadian embassy. You could also try applying for a visit visa and see if you get one. It's possible that you may need a pardon or something first. I don't know how that works in the UK.

If you have committed or been convicted of a criminal offence, you may not be allowed to enter Canada.

Thanks for the replies... I've already read & re-read the immigration website just wondering on personal experience really I guess.

I've decided to file an application and just see what happens. I have numerous letters of reference from influential people (such as police officers) so have fingers crossed
