IELTS vs TEF
I don't know if people are still following this thread.. I will be sitting for both IELTS and TEF. Having completed my studies in the UK i didn't worry much about English test...after several failed mock tests though I'm starting to be concerned. I have been learning English for 15 years total (lived in England for 5 years) and I have lived in France for 5 years (didnt go to school here though). IELTS is in 2 weeks and TEF is in 4 weeks.
I can say that listening part is equally easy. It is even easier in TEF as the answers are already provided. IELTS is trickier as I believe misspelled words will not be accepted. Reading though...OMG! TEF is a piece of cake, I easily scored level C1 without any practice. After 5 IELTS reading tests I still can't get passed 6.5 (8-10 mistakes)... I don't understand how can people that are not as fluent get a top score?! The questions are unnessesarily complicated. I really hope that my practice tests are harder than the actual tests.
Can someone confirm please if the actual reading section is as twisted?
That's great...have you registered? Wanted to register in October too but was told it's full.Hi njbybrthnly am preparing for October exam.
Personally, specifically speaking of the Reading section, I found IELTS reading part much easier than TEF reading part. Maybe you are practicing Academic cases. I am more at ease with French language but I made less mistakes in the IELTS reading part.IELTS vs TEF

Merci beaucoup. Saluts,
