Look it is not concerned and I know it was not asked - just so it look that you are a good citizen and pay taxes, just include the document. Although Mention this that you know it is not asked but you are still providing it so they don't think you are not getting the message across and may be you was not able to understand their request.

Don't worry, your application will not be rejected if you provide the documents which proves that you are right.

Actually i have worked in two different countries and both of them don't have something called (tax return) too saudi arabia and jordan. saudi arabia doesn't have tax at all. you get all of your salaries without any deductions. in the middle east i think in general there is no tax return policy, instead there is some categories of income exempted from tax. i have heard about tax return policy only here in canada.

there is always a tax return receipt when your tax is deducted. it can be obtained from your employer if deduction is at source otherwise you have to pay all the taxes and get a tax return proof form taxation department. this is what we do in our country and i am sure same would work at your end.

One of my friend applied for UK immigration and he had to deposit all the taxes for the last two years as his employer was not deducting it.

RA00 is correct. How is it possible for any government to keep on deducting taxes without issuing any receipt for the same? Am I to believe that the government is making unaccounted money which is also known as "black money"? NO WAY.

Hi Maple

I think you are misunderstanding the word TAX RETURN - It is not literal english - i.e it does not mean the governemnent returns to you a portion of tax paid - but it is a FORM that you fill in at the end of each year which shows gross pay , tax paid and net pay.

This is done in every country in the world. Your employer probably keeps a copy of this in your personnel file. This document might have a different name in your country - but it is in essence a record of tax paid during the year by you, and deducted directly by your employer and remitted to the tax authority. This form /return is also signed and stamped by the employer and then submitted to the governement or tax authority.

Please dont be confused.!

I have been working 5 years, and I have never filled such a form during my work, non of my colleagues did, however, I could get a salary certificate from the financial dept. showing the tax cuts my salary gets (5 types of tax), from the period of 200x-200x, so I guess maybe this will work for the IO, I explained in an email to Buffalo that employees in my country do not fill tax return forms though their salaries get tax deducts. I attached the salary certificate showing the tax deducts, I am hoping this will work for the officer.

Thanks NewYorker for the information.
When first I was asked to submitted tax return from my country, it was with the medical request in the end of March 2009 with the rest of the required documents, now that I did not submit it the first time, I was asked to submit it again "final request" does this mean that they finished processing the medical results and all they need now is the tax return thing to finish the whole process?

Yes maple it does, in addition to that it is a kind of an important warning for you which will definitely cause a refusal of your application if you don't send the required documents.

The word final request as it is used in your case doesn't mean that they are doing the final procedure, it emphasizes your last chance in sending the required document. Means that we have asked you before and we are giving you a final chance to submit the required document (kind of warning).

Take it seriously and try to do your best in that regard.

H ere is the case,
I pay taxes through my salary, ie. the government takes 5 types of tax from my monthly salary.i sent a document to the IO showing him the tax deducts of my salary each month. However, I do not fill tax return form to show it as a document that i really pay tax in my country.
i also got a document from the tax department itself in my country stating that my salary "based on my job type "lecturer" gets tax deducts from the government. this is all i could get and i hope this will work because i was asked to do that as a final request, is my application is refused due to this reason, then it is not fair because this is all i could get as a proof that i pay tax in my country.

Do you pay taxes? If so, prove it with documents. If not, explain why not.

By the way Maple, as far as i remeber from your earlier posts, you have done your master degree in canada ! if yes, then you will be eligibile for the Post graduation work permit for 3 years, why didn't you apply for it ?

Another thing, if your application for the FSW got refused (hope not) because of that reason, work for one year under the PG work permit and apply under the CEC category, so they will not ask you for any experience documents from your country and no points system and no headache, furthermore, it is faster than FSW, i see on trackitt, 3,4,5 months to finalize the CEC category.

That is what am going to do if my application for the FSW got refused after i finish my study and get my PG work permit.
