I have been in Canada for more than three years since October 19, 2015.

I had no income in 2015 and still filed an income tax return with the CRA.

I filed income tax returns with the CRA for 2016 and 2017 also, but I had substantial income to report in those years.

Can I use my 2015 tax return to apply for my Canadian citizenship, as I have already been in Canada for more than 3 years now, or will I need to wait until I file my 2018 tax return with my 2018 income to report on it?

Thank you.

You are good to go. There is no income requirement for Citizenship so you can don't have to wait until 2018.
