Hello, I will start working as live in caregiver in Alberta by July. I learned that aside from room and board theres more deductions to made for my salary. I want to know how much tax they will deduct from me if i get paid 9.91/hour in 44 hours a week. Can someone please tell me how much money left for me after all the deductions? Room and board cost 336 a month, thats all I know other deductions?clueless. Please give me some infos about it. Thanks.

Hi,

you can use http://www.paycheckcity.com/canada/coeatonca/cacalculator.aspx to calculate your income after taxes

You say that you are payed 9.91 CAD per hour and your week has 44 working hours

9.91 CAD x 44 working hours x 52 weeks per year = 22674.08 CAD

If you are payed weekly, it would look something like this.

Gross Pay $436.04
Federal Withholding $58.31
Provincial Withholding $40.98
Canada Pension Plan $18.25
Employment Insurance $7.98

Net Pay $310.52

So each week your gross income is cca 436 CAD and after taxes it is somewhere around 310 CAD. This doesn't cover your medical insurance, I don't know for live caregiver workers do they pay health insurance by them self or employers pay health insurance.
