My Friend you have mis understood 'Big time' no offensecee12345 said:Suvan, please do not be confused. An LMO is a document from the Gov of Canada that permits your employer to hire a temporary foreign worker. Work Permit on the other hand is a permit authorizing a foreign worker to work in Canada for a specific employer and specific location.
"LMO" for the Employer
"Work Permit" for the worker
So as a foreign worker, your only concern is your work permit. If your work permit says you can work in Toronto (you can work anywhere in Toronto) for the same employer.
By the way, I am pretty sure the location is based on a City.
Suvan, we get you and I do not understand why you keep reiterating the LMO. Yes, there is an address and expected location on an LMO. But that is to only identify where the location of the employer/business.suvan said:My Friend you have mis understood 'Big time' no offense
I'm fully aware of what an LMO is and work permit.
I'm not going to copy and paste the LMO documents here, download from the HRSDC website
As I also mentioned earlier
I have been through this scenario myself, read above please im not typing it again
I have known and seen many work permits that state the location, exact address and not to work any where else!
Because........
Off the bat when the employer is advertising (which is a requirement for the LMO)
He/she has to state the location, once HRSDC is aware of this they process the application, if successful they send the LMO documentation
Its at this point (in the documentation) that they acknowledge the location (set out in the original ad placed)
Once the TFW applies for the work permit and it physically comes through, it is stated on the work permit the location
Simple as
I cant explain it any easier than that, its easy to understand what im saying

What we are trying to say here is - IT IS OKAY TO WORK AS LONG AS YOU are working as per the location on your WORK PERMIT.
I do not understand why you keep butting in the LMO - what is the connection?
Even if you apply for SIN or OHIP or even open a Bank Account they will all look at your WORK PERMIT.
LMO - is a confirmation that your employer can hire foreign worker. That is the only purpose of it.
if you don't think it makes sense, you don't have to make any comments here. Yes, you are right that you are stating the truth, but too.suvan said:this quote doesn't make the blindest bit of sense!

At least, we answered Raj question that as long as the location stated in his wp is restricted to the CITY only, he is good. And myself and many others who posted here are the same case. I am in ON and my wp did not state the address of the business.
