Syrian National with a Complicated Case

Hello,

My current situation is a bit complicated, so I am looking for answers to a couple of questions before I start gathering the required documents to apply, and I hope someone here can help.

I am a Syrian national who is currently residing in Saudi Arabia. I have come to Saudi Arabia on a visit visa back in 2013 and stayed here legally since then. Although, I am here on a visit visa, which typically does not give its holder permission to work, Syrians have been exempted from that and are allowed to work in the country, but cannot do other things such as getting driving license and more importantly opening bank accounts. I can acquire a reference letter from my current employer to prove my work experience, but cannot show any proof of funds (bank statement) from Saudi Arabia as I cannot open a bank account due to my visa type as explained before. However, since I used to live in the UK, I have a bank account that I can use to provide proof of funds since I already have sufficient funds in that account.

My questions are:

Will it be acceptable if I provide my proof of funds using a bank statement from the UK, while my current work experience letter will be from Saudi Arabia ?

Also, Saudi Arabia does not provide police clearance certificates to visitors as they require some documents that are only issued to foreigners with work visas. How am I supposed to inform CIC of this, and what should I do so that my application does not get rejected because of this?

Re POF, not a problem to have your bank account from the UK or anywhere else (bear in mind you'll need to get hold of the original official statements - CIC does not accept statements printed online).

Re police certificate, if you're sure that this is the case, make sure you supply as much evidence as possible to support your claim. Get a letter from the Ministry of Interior or the Police Agency or w/e that would make your case stronger. Police certificate is mandatory so any document you may get your hands on that supports your case is an important document.

Good luck.

SA is accepted to be a place for which CIC has to support application for PC even for people with residential status there.

So you should provide details of your situation with proof in your application.

Either CIC will support in getting you a PC from SA or might waive the requirement given the circumstances.

However, they wont just take your word for it. You need to attach proof proving what you just wrote about Syrians being allowed to work in SA.

the POF is okay i guess, but What about other requirements? what is your profession? if you dont have valid Residency then you wont be able to fill in the fields related to that in your application?

I don't think its an easy task to do, since you have such complications (unfortunately), but why dont you consider applying within the new stream for Syrians? Jordan/Lebanon & Turkey.. they are considering 25,000 Syrians within 3 Months only.

keep in mind that you will have eventually to get docs to apply through the EE when u get ITA, for example you will have to get police certificate from Syria? is it doable for you and your family? you need to get so many docs like certificates of birthday for all family, certificate of marriage... many docs will have to be issued from the Syrian authorities..

Im not trying to discourage you at all SamSalim80 rather than saving your time really... Is there an embassy for Syria still working in SA?

Best of luck for you and your family..
