Dear All,

As far as I know there is no way to check if your application will be recommended for further processing by Sydney until you receive an AOR. However, I think if your bank draft has been cashed by Sydney, there is a good probability that your application will be recommended.

Having said that, how long did Sydney take to cash your Bank Drafts?

My application was received on March 13th (tracked through DHL) but so far my bank draft has not been cashed. Should I be concerned?

Thanks in advance for your input

Hello Surfturtle & All Seniors,

As per this line 'However, I think if your bank draft has been cashed by Sydney'. I have an understanding that, when you make an International Bank Draft (IN CAD) from any bank in your country,at the time of making Bank Draft, Bank deduct corresponding money from your bank account and issue bank draft to you (in the name of CIC). Now my question is, how will you get to know that your bank draft has been cashed by sydney??

Request you to explain me the procedure behind this process.

Abhishek

As per my understanding, Draft are being already made after deduction of money, Checks are need to be cleared but the the Draft never needs any clearance. I mean, concept of draft is that if you send or receive draft. its already your balance in your hand.

To answer your question I am assuming that you have a xerox of that BD that you sent to Sydney so you have its reference number.

Go to the bank that made that BD for you. Give them the reference number of that BD and ask them to confirm to you whether it has been cashed by the recipient or not. When a bank issues a BD, its issued from one of its own accounts. Whether the BD has been cashed or not, can be easily checked by looking at the activity log of that account.

hi guys,

For your information..

I applied under FSW3 in jan 09. I sent application in simple post. never checked whether they cashed my draft I sent.

I got reply in 1 month that my application is accepted for further processing.

I didn't get AOR.

Thank you,

canadp

I haven't heard anything from there side yet, however would like to be in touch with you as we are in same boat. I applied from Pakistan under category 0111. What was your location and category.

I will update you on my case status in case i hear anything from them, please let me know if anything happens on your side.
