I applied supervisa for my parents yesterday and got medical and passport request in the morning. The letter says

This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on your application. We require your passport to finalize processing your application.
Passport requirements
• Please provide your passport or travel document, with a copy of this letter.
• There must be at least one blank page in your passport.
• Your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.
• Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.

What does it mean?

Aren't they suppose to request passport after the medical is done? Just like they did for our PR.

Super confused here.

congrats cforcanada.

how long will your parents stay in canada? and what's their age?
as far as i know, there is no need for medical exam if they will stay for 6 months or less. but if they will stay longer than that.. then they need to have medical exam done.

Hi bebeboy,

I m keeping my fingers crossed. They r staying around 6 months. Thanks.

perfect! that's the reason why they got ppr that quick.. but if later on they will decide to extend their stay,,, then they will surely be asked for a medical exam. once again, congrats.

Here's the link that will surely help your confusion :-)

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-temp.asp

If you plan to visit for six months or less:
You generally do not require a medical exam, unless you plan to work in certain occupations (see below).

If you plan to visit for more than six months:
You will need a medical exam if you:

have lived temporarily for six or more consecutive months
in one or more of these countries or territories
in the one year immediately before the date you want to enter Canada. (This applies even if you are a citizen of a country that does not need a visa to enter Canada.) or
will come to Canada to work in an occupation in which public health must be protected. See below for jobs for which you need a medical exam.

Actually i use one of template i found on this forum. Someone did a good job writing it in such a detail. I went to the notary public and signed it infront of them. They will stamp it to look like a legal document. Here is the link to that link

Hi CforCanada,

Congrats for your quick positive news on your parents super visa.

1) Did you apply online ?
2) Which is your parents home country ?

I just have applied online for my parents super visa & got medical request too.

Thanks,

AP.

hi congrats! :-)

as for my mom's supervisa application, it's been 10 weeks since she completed her medical requirements (all went well). they have my mom's passport already and got no email requiring for further requirements from our end. I'm kind of worried now, haven't heard from them. :-( what should I do?
