Yes they did ask for the medical, some cases medical are not required.

I want to update that my parents finally got the supervisa.

For supervisa, medical is always required. Did your parents apply in the visa office at Delhi? How long did it take for application submission to getting the visa? Also, when the visa was issued, did you get an email from the visa office that the application has been approved? I'm assuming you applied online?

For supervisa, medical is always required. Did your parents apply in the visa office at Delhi? How long did it take for application submission to getting the visa? Also, when the visa was issued, did you get an email from the visa office that the application has been approved? I'm assuming you applied online?

I applied online and i did not receive email from the visa office, instead they updated the online portal at each progression.

It took 2 weeks to get the passport back with visa on it.

cfforCanada: could you provide your timeline? when did you submit application (online or VFS), when was medical requested, when was medical exam submitted, and when did you get passport back? From your post, this is what I have gathered:

App Submitted Online: Sep 01, 2014
Medical and PPR request: Sep 02, 2014
Medical Exam done: ???
Passport received by courier: Sep 15, 2014

Did you apply in India?
