Supporting Documents - How much is too much ?

I know this is a really old post. But just some points I want to ask a few questions. I have asked about “evidence” in the past. But reading this old post got me thinking up a few more questions!

-I CAN send evidence of my phone cards, if I scan them? Say if I scan them with the pin showing, so they can see each card is different, and I am not just scanning the same over and over again? That why the IO can see why we wouldn’t have as many phone bills? I also have a letter from the calling card company saying they won’t give me the phone records.

-Also is there a specific way to write on the backs of photos? I have been saying Kate (myself) and Agim (my husband) on the gondola with some friends in Tirana Albania. Must I instead refer to us as the sponsor and applicant?

-Also can I scan things like my plane stubs? That way a bunch of loose little stubs are floating around.

We sent 50plus pictures(labelled), jan2009 to june2010 phonebills,jan2009 to june2010 emails,2009 to june2010 receipt from western union,2 itinerary when I went home to visit my husband,our passport showing that we travelled together in macau and hongkong,screen shot of chikka.com and magicjack that we're using to communicate,and I also took picture all the phonecards we used since our relationship started on 2007, greeting cards and 6 letters from our friends and relatives for proof...

Is this too much?

Yes scan your phone cards. Having the letter from the company is good evidence that you can`t prove who you called. On your app where it asks about how you ongoing communication be sure to mention how often and that you primarily use phone cards.

You can scan your ticket stubs too, if you want, but I don't think that is necessary.

On the back of the photos be sure to write the date as well as the location and the identities of those photographed. I used our names, not applicant and sponsor. If you plan to submit the photos in a certain order you could write Kate (applicant) and Agim (sponsor/spouse) on the first few, but I don't think it is necessary of every one. On some photos I wrote the relationship to either of us for the other people in the photo...like "Pierre-Yves with Todd (Allison's brother) at the home of Todd and Megan Young, in Charleston SC, March 2007".

I think the content and the context of the photos (and emails, chat messages, texts, too) is as important or more important than the number. Think about including photos that mark the passage of time, that document the significant events like shared travel and relationship "firsts", and those that show the interactions with friends and family. These will make it easier for the officer to assess that the relationship is on-going, genuine, and recognized by others. A variety of those types is better than 150 of the two of you smiling for the camera. Same for written messages. Focus on the ones that show your relationship is ongoing, interdependent, and already marriage like (based on love is good too :-*) and leave out the ones that don't add any NEW evidence (like "Going shopping today and having lunch with Marla. TTYL")

What I did was buy a USB chord you can plug into the computer. And I got the Samsung PC Studio 3, you can get it for free or purchase a CD. I got the chord for $5 on Ebay.

That's what I did. My Nokia came with a USB cord and the software. I just plugged the phone into the computer, clicked on inbox and all of my texts showed up. I then took screen caps of all of them (there was no option to print). It showed the date and time sent as well as the first 20 or so words in the message.

I think its more to how you structure and order your evidence.. the easier it is for the IO to answer questions the less time it will take them to say YES or we need to talk....
