Super Visa

Hi,

Regarding Super Visa for parents, I read on the blog that one of the criteria to qualify for super visa is to undergo immigration medical examination (unless exempted). I went to the following website which says nothing about ''unless exempted''.

cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/immigrate/sponsor/index.asp#parent

If you go to the 10th. FAQ, ''who is eligible for parent and grandparent super visa? What do they need to do to qualify for it?''

The reply for this FAQ on cic website is:
Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have been found admissible to Canada and meet some other conditions are eligible for the Super Visa.

Visa officers consider several factors before deciding if the person is admissible. This means they are a genuine visitor to Canada who will leave by choice at the end of their visit. Among the things that could be considered are:

the person’s ties to the home country,
the purpose of the visit,
the person’s family and financial situation,
the overall economic and political stability of the home country, and
invitations from Canadian hosts.
In addition to being found admissible to Canada, the parent/grandparent must also:

provide a written commitment of financial support from their child or grandchild in Canada who meets a minimum income threshold,
prove that they have bought Canadian medical insurance for at least one year to cover the period of time that they will be in Canada, and
complete an Immigration Medical Examination (IME).

It says nothing about '' unless exempted''.

Can you give me the link where it says ''unless exempted''?

Many thanks.

Thanks pinklady..but the weblink you referred to is applicable under other catagories of visa and has always been there. For Super Visa, it is specifically mentioned in CIC website that medical exam is must. However, I have read in several places while googling that medical exam is must unless exempted but could not find it under the requirements mentioned by CIC website. I live in Kuwait which is under the exempted countries list, but I could I be sure that it is applicable for super visa category as well?

To be sure you'll have to wait until Dec 1st when the visa will become available along with further information. From what i understand of the link i posted, it is for people who will be visiting for longer than 6 months, which is what the super visa is for.

I think there's a good chance the medical will be mandatory for all super visa applicants. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Hi Guys Please can you reply to my questions below regarding Super Visa application

1. Form IMM 5645 Family Information - On the top of the first page of this form it says "Complete ALL names in English and in your native language." Does that mean in the same section of the form i will have to write names in native language also just under the name in English or do i have to write in native language in a separate/additional page?

2. Invitation Letter - Do i have to attest invitation letter from a Notary in Canada before sending it to my parents in India?

3. Return ticket/Itenarary - As per the Super Visa application checklist we have to also submit a return ticket and/or an Itenerary. I read a comment by someone on one of the forums that return ticket is not necessary to be submitted with Super Visa application in that case should i submit an itenerary created by myself on a plain page? Please suggest.

Would really appreciate your replies.

Thanks & Regards,
ASJ
