Hi,

My parents got their super visa and they are in Canada right now with me. My dad got 10 yrs multiple visa while mom got only for 2 yrs because her passport was only valid for another two year when she got the visa. I just want to find out, does she has to apply again with all the documentations like the first time to extend her visa after she gets her new passport?

Yes, she would need to reapply as the visa she was issued would no longer be valid.

HE also will need to re-apply after 2 years stay.

No, he was issued a ten year visa, so while he could stay in Canada for up to 2 years at a time, he would NOT need to reapply for a visa after exiting.

Thank you so much for all the replies. I know that they are only allowed to stay 2 years at one time, and if they wish to stay longer they would have to get their stay extended.

My concern is with my mom's visa, she was only issued a year and a half visa because her passport was only valid until that time. So, now after get gets her passport renewed, does she have to submit all the documents again like, all her financials, her income taxes from her country, my tax returns and all the other papers they included the first time she applied OR she can just apply with and application saying that her passport was expired. My dad got a 10 years visa, and mom and dad applied at the same time as family. They only reason my mom got short visa was because her passport was expiring soon.

Also, would she has to go through the medical test again, she did her medical test the first time she got the visa.

Visa validity and Permitted time to stay and very two different things.Your mum is here now and can stay up to the allowed time

if she leaves Canada and decides to come back again, the entry visa must still be valid.

in summary, if her visa is no longer valid while outside of Canada, she will need to make a new application for a new visa (The entire process)

Good luck !!!

A question:

If CIC has issued 10 year multiple entry super visa then would CIC renew this visa after 10 years for another 10 years? Or, is it just one time and cumulative 10 years visa?

Seniors advice would be required on this.

You would need a new application and satisfy all requirements at the expiration of the visa

One has nothing to do with the other. The new application will be treated as a separate application.

Hi all,

I have applied for super visa for my parents in 2013 and got for 5 years only. However my parents passport will get expiered in 2021. What should i do to renew their visa? They still have valid passport for another 3 years and super visa suppose to be 10 years or until passport expired but this is not the case in my situation . Appreciate your response in advance

There's no assurance that any temporary resident visa/super visas for that matter will be issued until the expiry of the passports. Validity of the visas depends on the assessment made by the visa officers.

Your parents will need to apply for new super visas from scratch when the current visas are about a month from expiring. Renewal is not possible
